WnW OOB Lozenge decals

I'll use the original WnW Lozenge decals on all my WnW models cause i don't like inconsistencies.. it looks pretty stupid to have so many different styles of fabric on my builds (just a personal opinion, no offense to anyone who is mixing the different manufactures).

Besides the WnW decals are great! They sure should be cause cartograf printed them but try to keep the decals as small as possible else it will be difficult to remove any bubbles etc.

cheers Chris

I'm an Aviattic convert - I just really like the colors they have achieved and the texture effect, fit, etc. That said I have seen some fine builds using the out of the box WNW loz - I do feel that some sort of overspray on them to tone them down helps them greatly though.

Wow, SUPER nice looking build Patrick!    Highly unusual scheme too.........................That is why Im choosing to do Will Hipparts Jasta 74 mount, as I havnt seen decals or masks for his in 32nd and figured it would be a good MoJo starter with something really different that I liked.

For the most part, even though I'm sure the quality is quite excellent, the WNW decals just look too stark and bright for my taste. As has been said though, once over sprayed with a toning down effect or wash, they would have the potential to actually look quite excellent.

Thanks! Is the a/c you are looking to do the one with checkerboarded fuselage and "Mimmi" on the top wing? I believe decals are available for that one just FYI....

Haha, yeah found that Pheon makes a set for his mount, but did NOT like the idea of using decals for all those checkers!

I just got done making a "Mimmi." and a sheet of 9.5mm checker squares on my Silhouette cutter, so I can paint e everything on.

Cheaper too.

The only piece of the puzzle left for his mount were which lozenge decals to use, and thus thread has given me confidence to use the OOB WnW decals oversprayed with a highly deluded mix of neutral buff

I've used the WNW decals on at least three builds two are the same kit and I thought they were great. They react well to microsol and microset and basically turn into paint.

I laid them down over gloss coated MM radome tan

Fantastic builds there - really well done! Did you use the streak decals on the Willy Gabriel a/c? They look great...

Here are a couple images of my DViI build with Aviatic decals.  Not only can you show underlying detail you can create the overlap look that you see on the real plane.  I just overlapped the edges of two sheets a little along the seems.  I really like the effects you can achieve with these.  So I am not saying there is anything wrong with WNW sheets, I just really like what I can do with these and would use them again if I build another DVII or any other aircraft the uses Lozenge.  I would use their decals though on any fabric covered surface that they make an applicable sheet for.  Doped linen is not the same as painted plastic or Opaque decal.
