Not really sure where to put this as I've never reviewed a product before but the new book from Crecy on the Macchi 200, 202 and 205 fighters arrived yesterday and simply blew me out of my socks.I was deeply into building Italian aircraft in 1/72 scale back in the 70's and 80's when I could see that well and lately my interest in trying again in a larger scale has been growing so I went ahead and bought this book. We had nothing even remotely this good to go from and the Italian publications of the day suffered from poor photo reproduction and paper.

I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of detailed information, drawings and best of all clear period photos that really show the design and construction of these beautiful 'planes .One thing I note in particular is that none of the paint applications are the same from 'plane to 'plane, even in the same scheme the motions of the human arm and hand are visible in the random application of the markings.A feast for the smoke ring aficionado.I am already searching for a better airbrush!

Since losing a fifty year accumulation of books  a few years ago I have been extremely picky about what I have replaced. This is certainly a book worth the modest price and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to know more about these gorgeous aircraft.

Best,

Paul

Hi Paul. The same author released the S79 Sparviero in the same series some years ago. The other book has the same quality. BR. Thierry

And, the S.79 book impossible to find. Ask me how I know...

That suggests these books are not widely printed so I suggest you get your copy while you can.

Indeed! Fortunately I found one copy two days ago for a quite reasonable amount (around 80€) and yesterday ordered the Do17 one for close to the same price. I got it from France but it looks the book is actually in India! Still hunting for the Do215 and V2 ones...

Well...good luck!

I have also been hoping for a reprint of their He 177 book. So far, no luck. But I am certain that will happen as soon  as I pay a high price for it on the secondary market!

Well I got one less than a month ago! I paid it the double of the initial price but again I cannot complain as it looks quite difficult to find any of the OOP ones for less than 100€!

I used Find-more-books and Eurobuch. I found 11 of the Classic OOP books in less than a month while staying far from the crazy prices. So it IS possible to find them but you need to look for them everywhere daily on sales platforms such as ebay, Amazon, Abebooks and others like Rakuten plus check all the major resellers.

Same here. Mine was ordered two weeks ago and it was announced for the same date! I saw it yesterday in a shop but the price was the double of the Amazon discount price!

Probably because  you live in Europe. I posted Amazon U.S. Their distribution appears haphazard.
