Juggernut
Hey there, I just sprayed my first MRP lacquer color and am wondering how long this needs to dry before I can mask over it? It seems dry to the touch after about 10-15 minutes but not sure if it's cured enough to mask over yet. Any advice? Oh yeah, this paint sprays great (not that we didn't know that already but I thought I'd express my impressions too). Buster99
nmayhew
Pretty much instantly provided you don’t hose it on i was doing invasion stripes last night and taped over them as soon as I had changed the colour in my airbrush from white to black etc - could have been no more than a minute or two Buster99, Rockie Yarwood, Juggernut and 1 other 2

I usually let things set an hour or so before masking but not fully sure that much time is needed. Zola25
Their Metallic paints need a bit longer than the others but I have never had any problems taping over any MRP paints after 20-30mins. They are pretty brilliant oh - this does NOT apply to their varnishes. Leave them to dry for a few hours /Niels Out2gtcha, Juggernut, Buster99 and 1 other 1

Woody V
It depends. Sprayed over plastic, it dries very quickly. However each successive coat re-wets the paint under it increasing the drying time. This really comes into play if you gloss coat over several layers like any pre mottling, black basing, etc. Keeping in mind that the thinner is absorbed into previous layers I always add additional thinner to a gloss coat to improve leveling. The wetter the gloss coat is the better it levels and with the thinner being soaked up by previous layers the quicker the surface flashes.
