Aviacom
Hi, Can you knowledgable chaps tell me which Russian Jets we have in 1/32 scale please? Which are the best kits of each type, problems and tips with each kit, what’s needed, etc for each please? I ask because I’m trying to put together a list for other modellers to refer to for this subject matter. Thanks in advance
thierry laurent
Well the list may be quite long if you are also considering resin and possibly vacformed kits. Trumpeter is by far the main producer of large scale plastic Russian jets. Have a look at the LSP database. You will find what you need: https://www.largescaleplanes.com/kitdb/list.php?act=search&plane=mig https://www.largescaleplanes.com/kitdb/list.php?act=search&plane=Su- https://www.largescaleplanes.com/kitdb/list.php?act=search&plane=Yak-23+"Flora" Most kits depict MiG or Sukhoi-buit planes but there are also some exceptions such as the Yak-23. Obviously the oldest kits are not recommended if you have more recent options. For instance, there is no comparison between the old revell MiG-29A or UB and the recent Trumpeter offerings. Unfortunately, for many planes, there is no redundancy. This explains why if you want to build some planes such as the MiG-17, you just have one very inaccurate option that has been released by different manufacturers (I'm politely forgetting the vacformed option). Dave Williams
To the OP, have you done any searches for this information? You’re basically asking the membership here to provide you a list of all 1/32 Russian aircraft models, as well as provide you reviews and other data, so you can take it and compile a list for other modelers? That seems a bit much to ask to have everyone do all of this work for you. Since this site is specifically for 1/32 aircraft, much of the information is already on the LSP site, both in the kit database, as well as in the various reviews, so there seems little need to repeat it. Might get some inspiration for Flagon necessaries from the 1/33 card models Wunwinglow pointed out, such as this Su-9 Fishpot: https://www.super-hobby.com/products/Su-11-Fishpot-23487940.html There's something to be said for those card LSPs.
