On Britmodeller is an excellent build thread on the Airfix Rotodyne, the same reissue you have: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235039178-172-fairey-rotodyne-heather-relives-her-childhood/ Apparently, the decals are very brittle, so it seems like a good idea to spray the blue. There is one snag: the Fairy logo in the blue cheatline. I think the other markings can easily be scanned and printed on your favourite decalfilm.
