mpk
Thanks guys. The prop was out of line but has since been corrected. Pit is in the cigar shaped thing....the wing! Why is the gunsight facing the tail? Hang on, I'd better sort this out. Shaka HI
mpk
An American George, eh?????? Would it still have a Japanese harness? I guess depends on how long they had it. Shaka HI and Shawn M
mpk
Any idea on the colours the US would have used to cover the meatballs? Would they have simply removed it from a wing underside? Shaka HI and Shawn M
Shawn M
the captured birds were flown by japanese pilots and escorted by Hellcats to the US base as the Japanese felt the airplane was "too powerful" for our pilots. Japanese belts would have been used The meatballs we're simply painted over with Stars n Bars. Other photos of the captured line up show the airframe paint in a pretty beat up condition Edited January 24, 2017 by Shawn M mpk and Shaka HI

mpk
Thanks guys. The seat looks a little off line??? So anyway, it looks like the tail #'s were over painted by brush rather sloppily. Nice! And the stars over painted. Must buy some good star decals. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Guest Peterpools
Dale Sure looks good with the fuselage halves neatly together. How right you were in not wasting time on doing the bottles as they just vanished! Keep 'em coming Peter

mpk
Looks fantastic, Dale! And now you're really moving -- keep it up! Wings are now on. I have been working with wet and dry all day. Thanks for the kindness guys. I am having to be really careful with my grip after the G6 explosion. It's not easy. One can only try. LSP_K2
Not the cut outs. The raised lines on the spinner. None of the various references that I've consulted, show the lines (ridges) that you refer to on the spinner, so I just sanded them all off. You're making real good progress here, buddy. Keep it up.
