dodgem37
Nice scratch work. Throttle housing does need more relief. I like how the engine vents are counter to one another. Must point out that you located a bottle of 34227 next to color 34277. I found DVD 1 helpful. http://www.ptboats.org/08-0-05store-02-VIDEOS.html Sincerely, Mark Vandy 1 VX 4
Vandy 1 VX 4
Thank you Mark for the link actually I got all the colors I need. some of them happen to be RAL colors. The closest thing I can find. 90% of the time the ventilators face rearward so I put all rearward now. Also purchased 3D throttles and navigation lights( port starboard ). Forgot to mention this boat is from squadron 18. It went through all the southwest Pacific her sisters were destroyed in the Philippines after the war ended. PT 364 was destroyed by shore battery. PT 365 was sold off. They all had names and some head nose art bow. PT 365 has the least information on. So it gives me artistic leeway. Uncarina
Danny, VERY NICE! Not many of these are built, and I have one 75% finished. Yours is an inspiration! Cheers, Tom Vandy 1 VX 4
scvrobeson
Excellent work! Love those big PT Boats. Would that happen to be a Centauro painting guide in the background? Matt

Vandy 1 VX 4
Sorry very little Mark. Life is getting in the way with health issues for the family. Plus summer in Southern California is really not that good for modeling. As you're always outside cuz it's nice warm and sunny. Thank you very much for checking in though Cheers Edited January 16, 2017 by Vandy 1 VX 4 Uncarina
Joel_W
Danny, What an impressive, well detailed PT boat. I've never build a boat, but what I've seen of your build sure looks like it will be an excellent display piece that your sea faring family will enljoy. Hope that this winter you will find the time to finish it up. Joel
Joe66
That's going to be one awesome PT boat ! I love your detail work. Joe
Vandy 1 VX 4
Joel and Joe thank you very much for your kind comments. I have stalled out on this build due to family health issues ( wife had spinal cord surgery ) and some tuna fishing trips. Regarding that I'm doing a mid production Elco PT boat in late War configuration. I have been trying to find reference photos I may have found something I may have done wrong. I have been Consulting with a gentleman that has photos of the same Squadron Ron 18 but of a different boat. Also looking at buying some more 3D printd detail parts for it. Vandy 1 VX 4
Joe I've always loved your avatar and I actually have 1/32 scale PBY-5A Catalina. I thought the PT Boat would go great with A Blackcat!!!! Joe66
dodgem37
'I thought the PT Boat would go great with A Blackcat!!!! ' You'll need to build another room to house that diorama! Sincerely, Mark Vandy 1 VX 4 and Joel_W
