HL-10
Having been a big fan of Thunderbirds since being knee high to an Airfix kit, I have always wanted a large studio scale(ish) Thunderbird 2 which is my favourite of the International Rescue craft. I decided to take the plunge and have a go at building one. There was more than one models used during filming and they varied in shape, colour and markings. I am aiming to produce a model that looks like the one used in the main launch sequences. After getting a set of basic outlines enlarged to give me a 32" long machine (the size of the studio model) I cut out lines in foam board and used expanding foam to fill the gaps as when it sets its dead easy to carve and sand. To refine the shape I am using ordinary house hold filler, as this to is easy to sand, and cheap! Once I have a shape I am happy with, I plan to cover the form with fibre glass and car body filler. The foam will then be removed leaving me with the fibre glass shell to refine (Well that's the plan!) upload img post a picture screen grab free uploader image hosting gif online photo storage "Stand By For Further Updates!"
