JRutman
I was messing around today and tried an old tree making method I saw on the interwebs and in a book I purchased at Telford. Plant root for trunk and main branches. Seafoam for the twigs and smaller branches. Oregano sprinkled on after a spray of diluted white glue. Not the best but....cheap and easy? TonyT
For fallen leaf scatter just use dried silver birch seeds, see http://www.reapermini.com/Thecraft/24 just use them in the dried state. They look like this when piled on each other with white glue http://sketchesofalaska.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/blustery-october-wind-strews-birch.html Edited November 18, 2014 by TonyT Vandy 1 VX 4

LSP_K2
I've got a terrific looking tree made from a root of some sort, that I'm saving for a "special" armor display. It really looks awesome, at least to me.

Smokey
Thanks for sharing Jerry. Who would have thought about using Oregano. The Trees look outstanding. Dan
JRutman
seafoam is a natural product and is available at a lot of places that sell diorama or model railroad scenery supplies. It is like a sponge, but more open in texture but fairly brittle. You have to be careful with it. Thanks for the comments guys, J
