JamesHatch
Oi - I resemble that remark! What was your verdict on the gear bays James - look OK? Iain (born just off Penny Lane, Liverpool ) Ay, ay, ay, ay! Calm down, calm down! Yes, here's one from my book. The fit is excellent. In installed the oleo walls as separate pieces for ease. gingerbob
Oh, you mean we're talking about Spitfires again? bob (not that I have a one-track mind... what was I just thinking about?)
Iain
Note the removal of those battle damage patches too? I recon those are post-build stiffeners (rather than BDR) added to some wings later in their lives - and present on restored airframes (and visible in photos) - Edgar will probably know more! JamesHatch
That's possible. I still opted to remove them. My limited reference couldn't see these, apart from one machine which was being taken apart in a museum somewhere.
Iain
Agreed - removing them on mine too I've seen some air-to-airs of a restored machine somewhere that shows them - so presume that's where Revell got them from... Iain

Iain Yes, I think you hit the nail on the head. The same applies to non-original oil cooler and that bizarre DH spinner/prop ensemble they included too. phasephantomphixer
So what is the best source for an early oil cooler? either a starting point for correction, or start from scratch? Would want to have one to cast and correct any kit that needs it.

Kagemusha
Would the oil cooler be applicable to the Mk V Jim?
JamesHatch
I would imagine the type included in the kit would indeed be applicable to the Mk.V, and perhaps some later marques too.
Kagemusha
Sorry Jim, I meant the Eagle Editions oil cooler?
