Yes, here's one from my book. The fit is excellent. In installed the oleo walls as separate pieces for ease.

Note the removal of those battle damage patches too? ;)

 

I recon those are post-build stiffeners (rather than BDR) added to some wings later in their lives - and present on restored airframes (and visible in photos) - Edgar will probably know more!

Agreed - removing them on mine too :)

 

I've seen some air-to-airs of a restored machine somewhere that shows them - so presume that's where Revell got them from...

Yes, I think you hit the nail on the head. The same applies to non-original oil cooler and that bizarre DH spinner/prop ensemble they included too.

So what is the best source for an early oil cooler? either a starting point for correction, or start from scratch? 

Would want to have one to cast and correct any kit that needs it. 

 

Eagle Editions are about to release them, plus Rotol prop and spinner.
