Sparzanza
Yep, I need a little break from the flash monsters that are Airfix kits. But this kit immediately put me to work in providing no less than 24 pieces for the exhausts ... and to make matters worse, they also provide some rubbery things to put on the engine. I hate rubbery things. I just hope I don't need superglue to attach it, or anything ... because I haven't got any. Sparzanza
Well gentlemen, this build has been put on hold until I can find some super glue.. there's none in the city I live in, so things don't look good. Damn these rubbery things to .. someplace dark and foul smelling. Pointless and stupid is what they are. tomv87

Sparzanza
Feeling the constant need to work with something, I had to get started on the cockpit instead while awaiting the purchase of super glue! The cockpit floor was littered with ejector pin marks, but they were easily sanded down, and I only had to fill a single spot. The ejector pin marks on the other items were equally easy to simply sand away. I'm also loving the detail on the instrument panel, I had to glue no less than three different levers in place! I was a bit confused about the "film" that Trumpeter included for the instrument panel, but Boris gave me a simple enough explanation. Anyway, here's my cockpit step-by-step progress:

Sparzanza
Thanks guys! I found superglue today, at Mekonomen (a car shop), of all places .. oh well. That means the engine got assembled! The rubbery things were fiddly as frog, but I managed. When it's completely dry, I will paint it. I love how one gets to build the machinegun inside the engine, even though it will barely be visible once everything is assembled. I've painted the cockpit out of boredom - RLM66 (Humbrol 66)! Funnily, Trumpeter says the engine bearers and the small containers are supposed to be RLM65. Yeah right! I think I'll go with RLM02 on those...
