Sparzanza
Nice work Sparzanza! Håkan Tackar ödmjukast! Doing my best! Agree. Really nice work, and great progress, love that dirt Keep em coming  Tack! Has anyone got a 1/24 yellow 5 in their decal spares by the way? :0 Progress ... These thingies that are supposed to go to the inner parts of the wings had (gasp) ejector/injector (w/e) marks on them! What a surprise! One treated, and one untreated.. for comparison: Sorted out and glued into place: More of those silly pin marks! Luckily, I only had to sand away these two, as the other ones are well hidden by the leg. Right landing gear leg with a spring inside, meaning fully functioning suspension: It all fits very well, only got the rubbery thing left to glue on... And here's some round things that were glued in the middle of the wings. I have no idea what they are, or what purpose they have.. can't be seen from any angle once the top half of the wing is in place. Hm. That's all for tonight! Sparzanza
The pinmarks come in such large numbers that I can't be bothered photographing them anymore. I guess as long as you don't see any, it means that they're sanded anyway. Update: Fuselage bulges glued into place without any major fit issues.. they line up perfectly with the other bulge halves on the cowlings: Brake line/pipe thing primed with Boris' acrylic paint: Holes made in the wing for more bulges.. this 109 is what we swedes would call a "knölsvan". A good fit! Any sign of holemaking and "fitting pins" (?) sanded away, no filler needed: Painted with RLM02: Assembled aileron and other.. thingie for the left wing: Woop. Guest Peterpools
Sparz Some very nice progress on the 109 and I even learned a Swedish word "knölsvan". Glad to see the brake line/pipe primed just fine with Boris' acrylic paint. Keep 'em coming Peter
Sparzanza
Thanks Håkan & Peter! Peter, this is a "knölsvan" - http://www.fageln.se/upload/art/knolsvan/knolsvan01_original.jpg Basically just a swan. Which would be svan in swedish, I don't know why they insist on inserting the word "knöl" for that particular swan, which not only is an ancient insult, but having a direct translation of "bulge", "lump", or "hump". You get the idea. The 109 is full of it, and since it's commonly referred to as a bird .. a knölsvan is just a perfect word for it. I explained that more thoroughly than I needed to .. oh well. I blame this half-litre cup filled to the brim with coffee. Well, half-full now. Half empty. Onions. Here's an update: Wings are now assembled: I decided to glue these flipflop things in place in the process, in extended position: Stabilizers assembly: And here's a mystery part that Trumpeter didn't bother numbering, nor explaining whether there'd be one just like it on the other side as well: And here's a 99% completed landing gear. It's just missing its knob in the middle: The wings and stabilizers are ready to be glued onto the fuselage, I just couldn't be bothered doing it yet ... but the next update should let you see some pics of it. shepard

Sincerely, Mark Ayeup, I had it explained to me by Boris as well... I guess it's true that one learns something new every day, eh. Thanks for your comment! Great job on this one, Sparz. Sparzanza
Nice progress Sparzanza! Looking good! HÃ¥kan Thank you! Wow Big progress and it looks real good, you handle this model like no poblems at all, full control thumbs up. Wich invidual are you going for on this bird? /Mal Thanks, and ... you'll see. My sanding adventure continues. It was just a little bit rough around the edges. Not much work needed. A little bit of filler, masking so it doesn't go in unwanted places: Works a treat. These steps will have to be sanded down though. Sanded the wingroot edges so that everything lines up nicely. Propeller assembly. I decided to glue the spinner in place since it doesn't sit steady enough to have removable. The entire propeller will be removable anyway. And this is the .. thing! It was fun to paint and assemble; great fit. Especially on that tiny stick in the opening of the.. thing. I should really go grab a book about 109's and learn what everything is called...
