florin13
A new project. This time, a Dauntless SBD3. One pretty known, markings for "Sail-12" of VS-2, flown by Lt(jg) John Leppla with gunner ARM3 John Liska from the USS Lexington in the Battle of the Coral Sea. Leppla and Liska shot down 5 Zeros flying this SBD - 3 in their bombing attack, and 2 in defence of the Lexington. I just added BigEd and machine guns set from Master. This is what I did until now. florin13
The fuselage closed, you can not see much. I decided to make registration 2-S-12, with victory markings and squadron insignia. I mean this. Not this. The aircraft, with the kill markings and full 2-S-12 designator, was actually an SBD at the Douglas plant in El Segundo in which Leppla and Liska posed after the battle for publicity shots. I hope not to offend anyone, it would be heavly wheatered as an aircraft on the carrier.

LSP_Kevin
You're off to a great start with this one Florin. I can't believe how quickly you work! It takes me weeks (months even) to get this far with most of my builds. Kev

florin13
I'm glad you like it. Thank you for stopping by. Not work very fast, this project was started before the Ju-88, now only I painted. Willi, about home made decals: First, look for a better picture as to what I need (high resolution if possible), a decrease scale, and print on white or transparent decal sheet on a laser printer. For example, for squadron insignia, I used this image. Florin
