fozzy
These frames will be fitted near the end of the build. The photos make them look all flattened out, but when they are in position they will take the proper shape.....trust me!!!!!! Next time I post I will be showing you how I am going to make the spinner and props for this Lysander,I have already got some ideas ......I have just got to try them out!! fozzy
I forgot I had these photos,so here is how I am going to make the Prop spin. So as you can see the Prop Shaft is made from a cut metal rod with a stop made from wire insulation glued to the end.I will retain the shaft in moving backwards by some sort of retainer!!!,The shaft will then pass through the engine and will be glued to a Propeller Hub that I made. fozzy
Here is a close up of the Hub I made.................. As you can see this was replicated with the use of Plastic and wire insulation. The next post will be how I make the Spinner and Prop Blades. fozzy
i LOVE YOUR APPROACH TO THINGS. tHAT WING IS SWEET!j Cheers J Hi guys havn't had much time just lately to do any modeling but was able to sqeeze in .........."Trying to make a Spinner!!!" Staring ....."one pee'd off M.Foster!! as you can imagine I didn't have a great time with it!!! Any way..... to start with I decided on using Balsa Wood ,so to that end I cut a block roughly the size of the Sinner and made a Template for the shape........................... fozzy
Next I cut out the template from the card and drew around it onto the 4 sides of the Balsa Block....
fozzy
I then sanded down to the lines from the template and ended up with this............ The trouble is being so small the sanding was very difficult and I'm not too sure about it so far!!
fozzy
I had to then make another template for the circumference of the Spinner which I then cut from the card and drew around it on the base of the block............
