Cees Broere
Christian, Well, fitting out the interior and those dreaded bombcells. Something I am not looking forward to, but I will have to make them to be able to close the fuselage. Today I bought some albion brass tubing that will be used as the rigging cables in the fuselage, the stretched sprue routine didn't work. i might be tempted to make the centre section wings and tail surfaces in between to keep my sanity. Ripaman
Hi Cees, have been watching your WIP and just wanted to say what brilliant workmanship, the attention to detail is second to none. Will be looking forward to your next post Regards Richard
Cees Broere
Thanks Richard, This build is really sucking me into some more progress. I fitted the rudder pedals. Fit was a bit tight so the pedals are displaced a bit to the right and as a result the rudders will be off set, giving a bit more "life" in the tail. The compass shelf has been fitted above the rudder pedals. Earlier this afternoon I had sprayed the albion tubing black. I couldn't wait and fitted some panels already after which the boards on top of which wiring will be fitted. Next will be the control wheel and column assembly hopefully soon. The seat has already been finished and will have Eduard seat belts to top it off. Am I enjoying this? Man, that's the understatement of the year. Hope you like the progress Cees
jeroenpeters
Hi Cees, It's getting cosier in there by the day!! Safe me a window seat! The bomb cells will really make it busy in there. Great work my friend! Cheers, Jeroen
Cees Broere
Ok some more progress, The fuselage rigging cables are finished, the control column and wheel is now fitted, as is the seat. This has an Eduard set of seat belts fitted which gives it a better look. Apart from some details the cockpit is almost finished. The instrument panel will be fitted later as part of the top decking of the front fuselage. Not sure yet to make the top decking from very thin plasticard I got from jeroen, or use soda can aluminium, as it will have some structural details scribed into it to give that stretched linen look, still thinking about that. Both top and bottom fuselage pieces have been temporarily fitted with some tape to see if they fit (they do, yeey) and the top one will be shortened a bit to enable the fitting of the aft tail decking to have more glueing area. Everything so far is dry fitted. The dreaded bombcells are approaching..... Hope you like it so far. Cees

Hogzilla
Cees, I really enjoy your scratch-build project. Always such clean workmanship on the fuselage assembly and painting, keep up the good work! Remember: patience + persistence = progress
Thomas Lund
Fantastic - I had to go back to earlier in the post to check that I remembered correctly - that thing was built in sheet styrene. That 'wood' looks absolutely stunning - looks like it was built from wood strips... Amazing effort
Cees Broere
Thanks chaps, Not bad for a first time I think...... But that shows that sometimes you have to experiment to see if an idea works. I wasn't sure about the oil into paint thing that everybody seems to be doing. This is just plain drybrushing and slushing paint all over a cleanly drybrushed interior (causing much horror). Hey Jeroen!, I saved you that window seat, I had to make it first though.
