Morane Saulnier MS 406

Hi everybody !

Thanks jerry and Matty for your nice comments and advices.

To finally succed to do the hinge on my Morane, I've followed several advices.

Unfortunately, the TIger saw is too difficult to use (some parts of the rods have been destroyed)

I've used a largest blade to score the hinge, then i've diffused Tamiya extra thin cement on the rod.

After drying, I've sanded it with a "sand pen", a czech tool.

I think it's more convincing now.

I've installed the partition of the radiator. But it will be quite invisible at the end.

The next step is to joint wings and fuselage.

Cheers.

Hi everybody !

Thanks Moobz ! By the way, i hope to see soon again some pics of your avenger.

I've jointed wings and fuselage (with some difficulties and a lot of Mister Surfacer !).

All traces of this joint have to disappear.

The windscreen isn't enough large and i've cracked it by trying to enlarge it !

I don't know exactly how to rectify that mistake. I've several ideas (thanks to friends) but i find them difficult to apply. I'm still searching for the easier one !

Cheers.

My best bet would be to make this one in to the correct size and shape then make a new one with this one as a master.

As for the rest of the build all I can say is already said WOW

I realy realy liked the idea on the hinge looks realy good I hope to use it one day

I'd probably do as Matt suggests, as a fairly quick fix. The centre section appears to be fairly flat, so clear acetate would do the trick, with scratch frame. The idea of mastering a new one would give you a nice finish though.

Enjoying this build immensely.

Hi !

Many thanks to Andy, Matt and Fredericks for the good ideas.

I've used both ideas.

I've inserted a piece of plastic card in the windshield and "vacuformed" it (thermoformed, i haven't found the correct word !?). I've made four pieces in the case my idea doesn't work.

Then, I've cutted the windscreen, kept the both sides and glued them on the fuselage.

I've fitted a small part of Acetate glued with KLIR.

Tamiya's epoxy putty has been used to re-model the top of the windshield.

The frame has been made in acetate and glued with klir and extra thin cyanoacrylate.

All i've got to do now is to sand the putty with an extreme care.

Cheers.

Hello Manu (and everyone else)!

I have been watching this thread with a LOT of interest, since I just ordered this kit.

I received it today, and it looks GREAT! ........with the exception of the cracked windscreen (sound familiar)?

(And it cracked in EXACTLY the same place as the photo from Manu!)

I don't have any vacuform equipment; do any of you know if a vacuform MS-406 canopy in 1/32 is available anywhere? (Squadron, etc.) I'm afraid my "scratch-building" skills aren't QUITE up to Manu's ! (LOL)
