jaxngee reacted to ironman1945 in PCM Macchi 202
I finished this one early last year. I know some have mentioned that this is a difficult kit to assemble; there were some fiddly bits but all in all i enjoyed it very much. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

The L is the one I really would like.......the GA. ANG operated the L....That said a warm up 86d USAFE sound like a good start.
I may have my choice.....i found a pic of GA ANG bird...that wqas a D converted to an L not my pic cred to???

jaxngee got a reaction from Paramedic in Trumpeter P47 Razorback 1/32
My first attempt at some sort of diorama, taken from a wartime photo of a WA AF officer doing a hero shot for the folks back home on the wing of a jug, figure from MB camera from bits of sprue, next time i'll spend a bit more time on the figures

Hi
just finished the big Stormovik, built mostly out of the box except for the markings which were Montex masks

Great finish and building, lovely work, just wish Hasegawa had issued the Razorback too

thanks lads, it seems fairly straightforward, i had a few nervous moments till i figured out how to jump the hurdles, the piece between the wings on the underside is too long i had to cut it in the middle so the undercarriage bay would line up at the front and the flap area would line up at the back, and if i were to do another one id mould another canopy as the kit one is too thick for 1/32nd scale, the trailing edge of the wing at the fuselage join needed heating and bending to line up properly, that said the rest was ok, the decals are very good.
oh and i'd like a lagg3 a la5 and a yak 9 too please if anybody is listening????

jaxngee got a reaction from red baron in Hobbycraft Mustang
Built out of the box apart from the markings, made a ham-fisted attempt at the stripe decals and ended up just masking them off

jaxngee got a reaction from Alburymodeler in Williams Brothers p-35
Did a conversion to the Swedish fighter version from the kit versions, involved redoing some intakes on the cowl, ammo drums under the wings and cowling gun blisters

An earlier build sadly this pic has outlived the model, but still one of my favourite aircraft
If any of you still have this kit you'll know that the canopy is very fiddly with its metal frame-I abandoned it and used an after market canopy from a 1/48th HIEN -but don't tell anyone...
