  1. Graham, That 419 is BOSS!Got it in the stash and plan on doing it soon or by the end of summer.Larry
  2. This is the HE-219V-5 proto-type. This is the first in the 219 as the proto-types that were used as to fitting exhaust and radar antenna sets and etc and as to the types of weapons that would be used on the later model 219s as nightfighters. And of course some were painted in black and had four bladed props as well. Later, three bladed props. Decals are from the stash and the wheels and tires are the 48th scale types from the pro-modeler JU-88 kits I had.
  3. Now here is something you may not heard of or seen as to a TA-154 being a single seat day fighter. Have the Monogram book #22 and in this great book it has line drawings of two types of 154s as an advanced nightfighter and the day fighter. I decided to do the latter. I used the old Hasegawa FW kit and got the engine fronts from the old Combat kit of the JU-88 which are metal. Gear legs are scratchbuilt and the wheels and tires are from the stash I have. Decals are the same and same for the paint as to the RLM colors.
  4. This is the SB2C-1C of the Helldiver or better known as the "Beast". It's the first run of the Helldiver as to Jeff Herne doing the -4. The early ones had the three bladed prop. The prop is from the Revell corsair kit and reshaped for this project. Paint is special mix as to pics I saw off google. Pit has scratchbuilt pieces and same for the rear gunners position. Gear legs were from the spares box and the wheels and tires are resin ones I had laying around. Decals are from the stash.
  5. KI-45 aka NICK or better known as the Dragon Slayer by the Japanese. This the ID vac kit. All parts that were used are from the Revell zero kit as to the engine and misc. parts here and there that I had laying around. Decals are from the stash I have. Here is what was used to get the 45 done: a. Props from the Revell zero kit. b. Engines from the Revell zero kit. c. The rubber ties are from the old Revell kit of the F-18 from the early 80's. d. Seat is from a vac kit I had. e. Rear canopy is made from a pice of clear sheet plastic. The kit canopy was yellowed. f. Machine gun in the rear station is from the old Combat kit of the JU-88. g. Gunners seat is from the spares box I have. h. Gear struts are from the Revell KI-43 kit. These were spot on as to the pics from a book that came with the kit. i. Added fuel fillers on the bottom between the fuselage and nacelle out of plastic tubing. j. Paint scheme came the box art I have from the 32nd Hasegawa kit of the KI-61.
  6. This is the Revell/Hasegawa build as to using the Hasegawa 47 parts. Parts used are as follows: a. Prop and hub b. Kit pit c. Wheels and tires d. Gear doors and struts e. Tailwheel and housing f. Sidedoors on side of the fuselage g. Cowl flaps h. pitot tube i. dorsal fin extension Used Trump corsair engine from a trashed build. Decals are from the Hobbycraft corsair kit. Paint is a special mix from a google search I did for this project. Some decals are from the combat decal sheet that were black, but I cut them out from the sheet and sprayed them with silver as to the pics I saw on google. Added panel lines here and there using a thin black marker pen. Flat coated using a water-based clear out of a bomb can.
  7. Combat does not come with any thing other what u see on the carrier sheets. As for engines.Vector makes some nice engines and the engines that come in the trump corsair, bearcat, and from the P-47 kits will work as well. One thing i should say here is as to the props.U can use the revell corsair props. But u will have to redo them as to the wide tip they have. One other thing is the wheels.Their a turbine type as to the cars that had these wheels back in the 70's and early 80's. But this is if u want to take the kit this far.The pic's i have show these wheels. The tires are plain tread type as on cars. One can use R/C type rubber tires if one tends to go this route. One other thing as to the nam 26K is won't have to use he turrets. For the gun nose with the eight .50's.One can use brass barrels from collectors brass or the ones from Aires.Their very nice indeed.Gear legs can be made from plastic and aluminum tubing. As for the pit.I used the monogram 48th scale sheets from that kit for detailing and etc. This helps u out as to not going crazy looking for intel for the project.Google is ok and can help as well. One thing as well as to the pylons under the wings.I would use sheet plastic here and make sure there the right width.U'll have fun as to what type of loadout u'll want to put on her as well. If u need anything as to pic's and etc. let me know and i'll try and help as much as possible.Larry
  8. Make sure that their flat around the edges.U do not want paint getting under them. And do not press very hard as to making sure in place right.Have not used them. But have used the warpigs types and they go on great.Make sure as well that the surface is clean and smooth as well.U want to use them again and again and u want to make sure there is no dirt or grim on them for reuse.Larry
  9. The Creep was OD and Grey for sure.have some pic's of here in my AIRPOWER and WINGS mags.Larry
  10. Might be able to help u.Have the book air war over nam. After looking through the book. There are several pic's of marine and navy F-8's.Some have red tail paint work. But no full red tails at all.Maybe and i say this in all honesty. That u might want to contact two bobs and see what they say as to their always coming up with differewnt types of decals and etc.And try the guys over on the HS board.Larry
  11. Rob, Can help u on this as to the RF-8 to the trump F-8.To be honest. No,And i could be wrong. But as to building the RF-8 several years ago.One thing i must stress here that the vac kits are alittle big as to width of the fuselage. But i think if u take the RF-8 front section and size it down.it could work. But i'll go one farther here.Give me the width of the F-8 u did and i'll dig out my vac plans and do a comparison and let u know what i find out.And if u would let me know what the length of the front section of u'er F-8 is.Got a combat vac F-8 in 33rd scale and i'm sure as to the plans and size of the fuselage. The length i need is from the front leading edge to the tip of the nose.Larry
  12. Don't see why not as to doing the desert version as to the first two releases.Larry
  13. Now for the 64 cent question. What will the cost be for the kit.And as to what it will cost in US dollars.Larry
  14. One tip that one needs to be aware of.Be very careful as to rubbing out the scracthes.Did it to a tamiya canopy and it crack along the seam.Be very careful here.I guess the seam was super thin and caused the crack down the seam.Double check the seam before rubbing.Be safe than sorry. And i barely started rubbing when it crack.Larry
  15. Jeff, First of all and to the masks u sent me for the 219.They were,GGGRRREEEAAATTTT!!!!They worked like a charm. And i for one would be very interested in the mig mask.Larry
  16. Allok, I figure as to john popping the back boards as to the molds and other issues that can come up.I would as to time and for him and his job and family. It may take awhile.I figure as well that it may take up until the end of summer to get everything squared away. But that's a guess.Larry
  17. Well,And i say this with all Honesty. That is one sweet looking F-80.And for a newbie.U'er on the road for greatness.Larry
  18. That's what i call a,Fighter Bomber for sure.Keep up the great work u'er doing.Larry
  19. Borderline, Combat as to the ID vac of the 335 had the insert for the seat version of the arrow.Larry
  20. famvburg, U'er right as to the wide cord on the fin and rudder. But vac is a very easy fix for that situation. But it would take alot of work. But it can be done.Larry
  21. Rob, Have to say that all the old revell its have issues and can be fixed and upgraded to ones statisfaction using whatever aftermarket and resin items that one can get for which ever kit those items can be had.But it depends on the modeler as to just how far one takes to make it a one of a kind. I think others may say that one of the old revell kits would be his favorite.Mine are ALL of them.Especially when hthe 109 came out in 69' and the rest followed after that.Over the years since then i have built alot of each and depending as to what would be my favorite is a hard call. One should remember back then, that these kits were on cutting edge for their time period. But those kits for one were as this.Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. And these kits can be bought pretty cheap here and there.Larry
  22. Steph, The vac kit of the A-26 does come with three ways to do the 26 as to u'er post.Either way as to anyone wanting to build it for whatever era the 26 served in.The only thing as to the nam version is the props. The kit comes with the ones for the WWII and the Korean version. Those wide prop blades for the nam version are alittle demanding even for me.Someone will have to pop them in resin if their to be done right.Larry
  23. Harold, This is a SURPRISE as to saying u have done vac.As to u'er resin items for jets.A very BIG question for u.As to the vac that TIG will be popping in the near future.Any chance of doing some resin for some of them. Not trying to cause a up roar to the question.Items as pits, wheels and tires, gear legs and props for said A/C.Especially the props for the A-26K that was used in nam.Larry
  24. Combat has the Marauder.Not the Invader.Larry
