  1. Thank you Paolo, but your Storch is the most detailed and most beautifully finished Storch model I have ever seen and it was a complete conversion with what you did to it. Mine can't even hold a candle to your's detail-wise. I hope I can evolve and become better / more adventurous. Still, I'm having a lot of fun with mine, and that's what this is about. You inspired me to make more of it than originally intended. Cheers! Edit: The Silhouette is really a God's gift to this hobby. The sorftware takes a while to master, but start with easy stuff and you'll get the hang of it real quick. Buy Oramask 810 but also Tamiya tape-sheets, they both have their specific uses. You can directly scan into the software and copy almost everything in masks.
  2. I have decided against adding tubing to the inner side of the greenhouse. I'm just too scared I will ruin it with glue creeping under the tape, plus there is little wiggle room. Sorry to those who were looking forward to it. The engine parts are cleaned up, but before I start I will add the last fiddly bits to the cockpit and door. My poor eyes... The start of the compass. The flare case, Eduard say you have to remove the detail on the kit part, but that is not necassary, it fits around it with no problems. That ring will most likely fly off, I'll remover it when pulling the tape. More fiddly stuff ahead... I think I will add a dome over the compass (lower right), I think I hace a Phantom part leftover that's ideal for the job.
  3. About that I.I.A.F Tomcat..I just came across this one. Tempting... Edit: too tempting. I bought the sheet. There is much debate if the F-14 was as good as it's name, yada yada yada. It's the Claudia Cardinale of fighters. Period (to me).
  4. Thanks Richard, glad it's enjoyable to watch progress! The Phantom was a big project for me, and I thought the Storch would be fast and easy. I was wrong. Paolo infected me. Next up I think I'll pick Revell's F-14A (I.I.A.F), F-15B (32nd TFS), or Trumpeter's F-8G (U.S. Navy or Marines markings, not sure which yet, colorful at the least).
  5. I started the tedious task of maskig the greenhouse. The Eduard set contains masks fot the outside only. So I put the outside masks on (fit was spot-on), scanned the backing sheet in to Silhouette Studio, and traced the placeholders. Some had to be mirrored and / or resized, but this is easy to to. Next I will start work on the engine.
  6. That's a sweet looking cockpit! Very well done. Used look is spot-on.
  7. Hey nice! Another Starfighter. I just bougth this one myzels. Looks like you have a keen eye for detail. Will be watching.
  8. Great choice Mike. Following, I have this one in my stash.
  9. Well, it's in! But it was a battle, and there was some battle damage to the cage construction, but luckiliy that was easy to fix. Next come a few rounds of touching up the seams with superglue, and sanding. Edit: I got a response from HGW about the seat belts. It turns out the instructions in my set were wrong and they have since corrected them. Part nine for the shoulder belts, part 6 for the hip-belts. FYI.
  10. The interior is done now, save some detail painting like foot straps and control stick. The cabin is in and securely glued with superglue. After finishing up the details and a matt coat I can close the fuselage. Hopefully tomorrow. Cheers!
  11. I'm senior allright, and it's surfacing more and more, so let's blame that Luckily it was easy to remedy. @mc65, thanks again for pointing it out, it looks much better now. I thought the throttle assembly from Eduard was overly complicated / fiddly so I modified it a tiny bit. Again I made an error because the levers should protrude I tiny bit out of the bottom of the throttle assembly, but I don't mind. . And in place. Next I gave everything the first coat of primer to make it look uniform, and closed up the fuselage with tape to see if things still fit. They do, but it's really tight so I have to be careful when I do the final assembly of the cockpit. Cheers!
  12. Haha, no Paolo, of course I don't hate you. I see your point. I should have studied it more in the first place. I think I can alter that as you suggest to make it look more accurate. Thanks Paolo! Cheers Edit: and it was right in front of me all the time:
  13. I can only agree about Aerocraft. One of the F-4 gears were a bit bent, a replacement was sent asap. Great service.
  14. Yoy're going fast! This going to look just fantastic when complete. It allready does.
  15. I did some tidbits in the last days. I've learned what to expect from Eduard sets, usually I find them so-so, but they sure do add some nice things, like the foor pedals they always have. Tricky to fold, but when done they look the part 100%. I could even pull the boot strap through the eye. The rear seat is finished. Not accurate, but a whole lot better than OOB. I abandoned my original intention to make the tubing true to the original. I got tired of it, and will leave it as in the photo. Again, not accurate, but better that OOB. I still have the inside of the greenhouse to do. I wis all here and their loved ones a wonderful, happy, and above all healthy 2024! Cheers.
  16. I have added two clamps from scrap PE to the back seat which will rest on the tube in front it. I made the cushioning for the back seats. They need to dry twelve hours and will then, after some sanding, recieve the same color as the front seat. The painted seats in place. I have also started work on the internal tubing. I will try to stay as faithful to the 1:1 as much as possible (within reason), but some artistic license will be applied as well. Checkin regularly if nothing in the way of anything. I want less surprises than with the Phantom. Cheers!
  17. Wow! Thank you so much Marc. It was the most fun in a long time. A lot of sentimental love went in to it, maybe that shows. Thank you very much!
  18. Very impressive looking Phantom Marcel. I've always liked VF-111's markings.
  19. Bloody awesome! Such a beautiful aircraft... Do you have a scheme in mind for it yet? Good luck with the progress, I hope this will be a success. Followed!
  20. Thanks a bunch Paolo! Great video, finally some good views of the rear area. This helps tremendously!
  21. I am wondering about something: I doubt the Norwegians would arm these with MG131 after the war. Would they have removed the gunner's seat to save some weight?
  22. It was fun making this! I give myself an A for effort I still need to add framing around the cushions, tweak it and likely resize the reclining back a bit, reduce it's height slightly. I wish I had removed the kit-seat tabs from the floor when I had the chance. At least it will become more accurate-looking than with the wrong seat. Cheers!
