The metric is how often the search term appeared (x100k???) I hope that helps. Kind regards, Paul

I’ll match you beer for beer Pete! Have a great Birthday! Kind regards, Paul

Forgot I didn’t plan to say anything more. My error.

Thanks! The canopy is quite useful to know about as I am not about to start vacuforming canopies! Thanks - useful to know but I don’t think I’ll be going for either of those schemes. I’ll probably stick with an RAF bird. Kind regards, Paul

Thanks! Back to scratching then…. Kind regards, Paul

Hey Jeff - can you point us to who did the aftermarket for this one? I wonder if it is still available? Kind regards, Paul

On the money. Which goes to prove that a twin engine jet fighter should always have stacked engines a la EE Lightning. 😉 Kind regards, Paul

Kotare’s business model, as stated by Mark Robson, is for 4-5 mainstream models before they attempt anything left-field so it is highly unlikely they’ll get to a Lysander (or even want to do one at all). I am not holding my breath. The Matchbox Lysander is actually not necessarily bad news but it would be lovely to see Kotare style kit engineering on a Lysander. One can but dream eh? Kind regards, Paul

I’d prefer Kotare to have a crack at that one. Their kit engineering tends to be more robust. Kind regards, Paul

I admire ICM’s kit choices and the fact they are managing to stay in business. Their box art sometimes needs a bit of refinement though: one of their 1/32 Tiger Moths (32005) has the aircraft being flown solo from the front cockpit… Kind regards Paul

That is shaping up very nicely indeed! kind regards, Paul

Hi Darren, The phrase “Less is more” was coined by the designer Mies van der Rohe. Your vision of what is good value appears to be lots of features equals value (Which the Z-M kits do very well). Kotare instead take a similar approach to that which Hasegawa used to: shape accuracy, fine panel lining and simplicity of build. This is ‘Less is more’ in action. It increases the likelihood of less experienced modellers getting to the end of their build. It is also important to draw attention to the engineering of Kotare’s models: They fit together extremely well and make highly effective use of panel lines to form joins. their decals are unquestionably the best yet seen at 1/32 scale (they are sharp and readable when looked at through an eye loupe). All of that costs and I, for one, am more than happy to pay for those features in preference to an engine. I possess both Kotare and Z-M kits and admire both for their different approaches. Both are value for money for the differing approaches they take and, for that reason, I don’t see them as being in direct competition. Kind regards, Paul

Merry Christmas to everyone! May Santa bring you all the Good Modelling Stuff you desire and may all those less fortunate than ourselves receive all they need. All the best Paul

Sadly I don’t think we should hold our breath on that point Jaro. Quite a few of us would love to see them! On a different point, after looking at Mike’s collection; an original Jeep is a small vehicle. The Tilly looks smaller and the Traction Avant looks miniscule at the same scale. Kind regards, Paul

Interesting points Dave. Let’s not forget that, that 1/32 Tamiya F4 kit (if we adjusted for inflation) would have been the equivalent of about $188.00-$195.00 back then (depending on how one calculates the inflation). I can find that same kit at Tower Hobbies for $128.00 today. These were staggeringly expensive at the time. It’s important we keep prices in the context of the time we quote them for.

Apparently an F/A-18 from the USS Harry S. Truman has been shot down by a missile from the USS Gettysburg in a friendly fire incident whilst the carrier group was in the Red Sea today. Both crew ejected thankfully. Kind regards, Paul

Messerschmitt Bf-109 G6/AS question
Archimedes replied to Archimedes's topic in Aviation Discussion & Research
Thank you Martin! kind regards, Paul -
Hi All, I need your help: In the Bf-109 G6/AS sub-variant, what did the letters ‘AS’ stand for? I’m not looking for what modifications were made to these airframes but simply what the A and S stood for. All assistance appreciated! Kind regards, Paul
