  1. Oh, I can imagine that, and more! Particularly pointless things, it's a gift, you know Richard
  2. So, it's mostly so you don't get the same content duplicated in multiple places - that makes sense to me <Richard makes a note to omit bombs from his Moth and ignore colour schemes for record attempts across Asia> Richard
  3. Out of interest, why not? Richard
  4. That makes sense. Googling for "tri prism retro reflector" brings up lots of stuff about devices that reflect light back in the direction it came from. Thank you Richard
  5. I wouldn't worry too much about what you are writing. Most threads here involve chopping great chunks out of kits and replacing them with after-market stuff. No-one seems to take this as condemnation of the kit in question What you are doing with the front leg is more or less what I would do with any kit. You are comparing what you have to photos of the full sized aeroplane and if it doesn't satisfy you, changing it. It looks like the kit will build perfectly well if you ignore the angle of the leg, and many folk would just build it anyway because that's what satisfies them It isn't easy to say a lot about the good bits of any kit. How much can you write about something that is correct and fits? Looking forward to the next instalment of leg surgery. Lots to learn here Richard
  6. You are truly an evil carrot. Had us all going for a while there Richard
  7. Good! More variety in the group build, and another interesting aeroplane to follow Richard
  8. There you go, much more interesting now Richard
  9. Does it? What about the action of the tailplane then? I'm fairly convinced we are seeing an engine run up in that picture with the plane held against the brakes. It would be an easier picture to take than of a moving aeroplane Richard
  10. Or holding her against the brakes while running up the engines. Richard
  11. Judging from the tyre in that picture, there's quite a bit of weight on the nosewheel Or the 'plane is braking hard Richard
  12. Now, if it turns out to be a prototype for a top secret military weapon, how long will you get locked up for.... Richard
  13. Recreated with great success too, Peter It's always amazing what you learn building models I do wonder if the picture being an aeroplane in flight makes a difference too. There will be all sorts of pressure differences on those panels Richard
  14. It also looks quite cruise missile like, which might explain why it doesn't have NASA on the side Richard
  15. I too would say that it's the paint and lighting that is emphasising what's going on there. Still, interesting how a full size aeroplane looks worse than what we expect from a model It is a bit of a warning to you though - that paint is going to be just as unforgiving on your model Richard
  16. That's good work, and well worth it. Those thin edges look much better Richard
  17. Seeing pictures like that makes me really glad I love to model early aeroplanes Just look at all them little switches, knobs and dials - you must be mad! Richard
  18. I have heard about patience, it's a skill I'm struggling with Richard
  19. Your career as a straight man needs some more work Richard Yes, I spotted your fiendish trap, Evil one. Anyway, who's bought this blasted kit, enquiring minds need to know
  20. It is most definitely worth filling the rivet holes, it is very, very much better How often do you look at a full-size 'plane and go 'wow, look at those rivets?' I'm amazed how quickly you created a realistic appearance. Richard
