    Thanks HÃ¥kan and Matt!

Small bit of progress tonight. I painted the heater ducts, ammo feed chutes for the 20mm cannon and the bomb rack support. These were all done with Mr Metal Color aluminium.

Next was the prop blades and bomb racks themselves. These were fine in semi gloss black.

After getting back from The Man from UNCLE, I couldn't help myself and glued the nacelles on.

I'll have to get more pics later.

..time for a bit more mayhem.. more wing work this evening..

..first I had to get a neat fit to the fuselage - pinched Paul Budzik's trick of using bare metal foil as the barrier as CA won't stick to it and making up the fillet...

..first a bit of foil where the wing meets the fuselage..

..then adding CA (being very careful not to let it bleed into the sliding spar arrangement)..

..let it all go off, repeated for the other side and sanded flat to the wing's profile..

..after that, next up was starting to figure out the air intakes in the wing root - I need to do these first so I can litho skin the wings from the leading edge..

..checked references and learned a bit about them - they are not just holes in the wing like I first thought

....started by making a master of the air scoop so I could plunge mould seamless intakes (on the right) - I used some brass tube as the base and balsa and CA to get the shape I wanted..

clamped a bit of card to a female shape cut into some scrap balsa and used my soldering torch to heat the sheet up..

..result, a fairing I can let into the wing - made five so had a spare..

..for the intake door pressing - I modified the brass tube master and pressed it into some thin pewter on a balsa block - it took the moulding quite well..

..glued the door to the intake and tried it out..

..marked & dremelled out the holes in the wings..

    ...and have the insides sorted...

..next up will be the pesky fairings...

    Allright.....Landing gear needs treatment....

For theese next steps so far ive only used Tamiya washes black, grey and brown.

Now pinwashing..mixed up a grey wash...to make details pop out...

Now brown wash at the movable joints and shafts and light on piston....and places where grease gunk collects

    Some minor adjustements needed.....before
Next stop...,,,,namely oil colors...subtle and layers...to make it alive..

That I have to say is the majority of the spraying completed, there are some smaller bits of detail left to do but nothing that will show up to well on camera. It actually came together quite quick, I have been using the Alclad as a light filter for the most part which combined with the warm weather has speeded up drying times considerably.

Getting a good image with the camera is the real tough bit as bye eye the effect is a little different. I have still to go back and add some further variation to the panels, I will use Tamiya's Matt Base to do this.
The aim will be to have variations of matt, satin and gloss panels as per the real aircraft, as to if that will be fully achievable we will see in the coming week.

I have the Escapac ejection seat to paint and there are there is still plenty to do on the canopy and gear bay doors.
If all goes to plan she should be done by next weekend.

    Thanks for looking.

Thanks all for the fine comments....still Little more exhaust stains to do.....

as i got questions about them exhaust stains.... (other forum and on pm about this.....)...

Just explaining with pics...note the abrupt end of the exhaust stains in the belly, due the angled panel on the belly...yes ill fill in more with xhausts but yes very subtle...remember...stil overall good shape Aircraft...

Allright....Back home.....and ichy feeling to get back on the track to build.....

    Allright...back form France....and benchtime folks.....
The examine openings got their glasses, glued with Kristal Kleer....since it dries transparent, úther glues such as CA will fog, Liquid Tamiya´risky due strong capilaryforce and drag itself in places unwanted and damage paint...

More weathering...exhaust gases stains....dirt streaks (oil colors)...yep the exhaust stains are cut of...as in fact the tilted panels on the belly pushes the exhaust gases from the fuselage, looked at reference pics...also started to weather the wheelbays....first round ....there will be Little more in there but very subtle...

Engine mounted.....and the cowling flaps and the front cowling....wings still dryfitted...
Now it starts to look like a decent Corsair....

Yesterday l quickly made a base and home for the Hog from a clip-in picture frame. Used Tamiya Grit Effect Light Sand as basic material to build the ground while still wet l crushed pastel chalk of different greys and browns and peppered the drying Tamiya stuff with it. Then glued some Grass Desert Tufts for AddOn Parts as contrast. At the end l blew the too dark spots with Tamiya Desert Yellow.

Thanks for all the interest fellas! I got a little work done on the instrument panel yesterday. In my opinion, Tamiya has the best looking instrument panels out there. I really wish some other companies would start doing theirs the same way. Even the aftermarket stuff doesn't look as good. Anyway, here it is...

It is a really nice build (provided you're not all thumbs like I sometimes am).  Pick an appealing set of markings and go from there .  One word of caution though....  Look at the available decals BEFORE deciding on a paint scheme...it'll be much easier on you than the other way around.

I have found no other info's except the picture was taken during Carrier qualification in 1943

    The BuNo is unknown.
