  1. Wow...just wow! Really outstanding! Looking forward to the whole diorama.
  2. Very interesting method! I wish I had known the ammonia method when I was building the 1/16 DVII last winter. I got hot water to do the trick just fine, but I did have some splitting. Tim
  3. Darn good point, Darren. I wonder if the real ones did vary in shape? Certainly wouldn't be the first time.
  4. To my eye, both of them are too pointy compared to the real one, though the Roden one is closer. The printed one looks exactly like the Roden spinner in shape to me. I certainly wouldn't buy it to replace the Roden spinner, but maybe the WNW one. The opening for the prop is way too small on all three. The real one takes up a greater proportion of the spinner's height. Very interesting post and great pics!
  5. Beautiful, just beautiful! I love those F-4s!
  6. Like I said, a new tool would probably be the straw that kicks me into 1/24. The only thing better would be an entirely new offering of a P-38. I'd drop the cash for that without hesitation.
  7. Wouldn't it be incredible if Airfix re-tooled this kit? I would make the move to 1/24 for sure.....
  8. I must admit that even though I have never owned a WNW kit, I would buy a DVII if they put it out again.
  9. That's more models than I've finished in 10 years. Good job!!
  10. You're dead right, but it's just a pipe dream! They'd sell at least 1 of them.....
  11. Maybe more info here? http://www.pacificwrecks.com/aircraft/b-17/41-2446.html I also noticed a link at the bottom of the page where you can order the DVD of the salvage documentary.
  12. I can dream, right? If they released anything from WW2 with the same quality as there WWI offerings, it would blow the competition out of the water.
  13. I am trying to find some 1/32 tires for my P-38 that more closely represent the ones on the actual aircraft I'm building. The two mains appear to be a sort of herringbone pattern, while the nose wheel seems to be diamond tread (I will attach pics when I am able). I am aware of the block tread tires with solid wheels from GMF, and the smooth ribbed ones from Aires, and there was an old diamond set from Jerry, now OOP, and one from Contact Resine, also OOP. If anyone can point me to some other options, or has any of those listed above that they would let go of, please let me know. Tim Pic of the tire: upload image online free
  14. A P-38. Can you imagine how awesome that would be?
  15. You are definitely a nutcase, cupcake!! But we love you anyway.
  16. That is much more reasonable. I'd grab one for 55 bucks, myself. One, not ten, you nutcase!😆
  17. I quit golf. I quit playing golf and skiiing for exactly those reasons. When the cost outweighs the fun you are having, time to move on.
  18. At an average price of 100 USD, that's 1200 bucks for those alone!! You could buy most of my stash for that.
  19. Absolutely awesome!!! I love it! Tim
  20. Karimb, In a forum where the best modelers in the world are well represented, you are, without a doubt, second to none. The quality of this, and every one of your builds, is simply mind-blowing and truly inspiring!! Tim
  21. First part = the rule we should all live by. Second part = describes most of our stashes because we don't follow the first rule. I know it's not the context in which you meant that statement, Dean, but it struck me funny! I actually am not the least bit sorry to see WNW kits sell out, since I do not own one and do not plan to buy any. I am pleased that they are that successful, though, and they are actually quite a good investment, it would seem. They are truly awe-inspiring, and I love WWI planes, but that is an expansion of my hobby that I refuse to do more than dabble in (I own 3 WWI kits by other MFRs). I firmly live by rule number one, and if I started buying those wonderful kits, I would likely become addicted to them and I don't need that stress. You crazy people have fun!! Tim
  22. Damn, that is so cool!!
  23. I'm with Ernie. Japanese fighters are very similar looking, to me anyway. When I get around to building a zeke, it will likely be the last Japanese fighter I ever do. Just not enough variation to hold my interest. I built the old K5Y Willow years ago, and loved it, but it was a pretty ordinary looking prewar biplane.
