Thanks Mark - she looks better 'in the plastic' so to speak.
Have tried to match the level of weathering shown on images of the original aeroplane...
Oil stains to be added.

Makes huge sense to me - and I'm one of those that prefers good quality vac to resin anyway...
Funnily enough - thinking this route on some of the Lightning stuff last weekend: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=49540&view=findpost&p=976056

On this one - the whole thing - Tamiya rattle can - followed by an acrylic gloss coat barrier (in this case Quickshine) followed by Aeromaster acrylic colour.

Weathering - model undercoated silver, painted and then scratched through with pan scourer and scalpel.
Gear on, final tweaks done - mat coat, exhaust stains, oil leaks and masking removal tomorrow methinks...

Looks dodgy as 'ell here - what numpty did the patterns for that?
Ooops - sorry Jerry - only pulling your leg!
Looks absolutely superb to me - great shapes/detail and casting.
Suspect Matt is probably right on the use of leather in the cockpit to prevent injury from spalling...
Brilliant progress Jeroen - enjoying this

To quote Rolfe Harris: 'Can you tell what it is yet?'
Behind the curve - but almost there (note - it is the correct IJN green - just a little yellow in the images)...

Sorry guys - I'm with Ken on this one...
When my site was active I had no sponsors and the vast majority of reviews/content were done off my own back/wallet.
If manufacturers/distributors choose to send out review samples to specific publications/site - that's their decision. I read Kens posting as purely a news item for benefit of members and was not abusing the site.

Aftermarket - I used the Revell photo-etch set (mainly the belts, dorsal gunner's seat, instrument panel) and the gun barrels came from the Master range (beautiful!) combined with parts from the Revell JU 88 as the kit guns are too small - closer to 1:48.
And that's about it!

If anyone's interested - the 8 page build feature is in the current issue of Military in Scale magazine (the one with the beautiful Swordfish on the cover).

Local to Upper Heyford here - I most certainly want one!
With all due deference to HpH though - not sure I could afford a resin one...
I do have the L-29 and it's stunning.
Iain
Can't help thinking someone in the marketing dept has used a piccy of the wrong version there and that it's the old Matchbox Puma.
I could, of course, be completely wrong...
