  1. James, Nice model! The mottle looks really good. One question - is the spinner off-kilter? The pictures make it look off, somehow??? Great work. What are you gonna use for an aerial? Scott
  2. What an abso-tively, posi-lutely BEAUTIFUL photograph. WOW - greatest post reply - EVER!!! LOL! Well done... Scott
  3. My PCM Spitfire needs one in front of the windscreen , and sometime kits have, well let's just say they don't always look the best. ;P Does anyone know of a source for these in 1/32 or other scales? TIA, Scott Gentry
  4. Very nice work on the cockpit, well done. Could you please tell us what color you have chosen to paint the bakelite(sp?) seat? Thank you. Scott
  5. Jon, I am not sure my PMs are working. I sent you a PM yesterday - did you get it? Let me know, thanks... Scott
  6. WOW! Fantastic work!!! Quick and brilliant... You must be deft of hand to have painted it in the sequence you did and not break anything. I would have destroyed the model for sure!! Scott
  7. Jon, I have this tractor and I am not going to build it. Perhaps we can swing a trade? I am in the US also. Give me a shout out at didiumus@yahooNOSPAM.com - remove the NOSPAM. Or you can PM me here... Scott
  8. Matt. that cockpit sure looks sweet. Scott
  9. Gary, Tom Cleaver over at Modeling Madness addresses this in several build articles over there. He has built at least four of these, take a look. Here are some links. 10. Jeff, Great Link. Thierry, I think there were more than one Air-A-Cuties. I would recommend a shout out to Steven Eisenmann over on Hyperscale on the "Plane Talking" forum - he is a regular there, and, if I am not mistaken - he helped do the research on the decal sheet you are holding in your hands... HTH Scott Gentry
  11. Many Thanks! That is what I wanted to hear. This opens doors with some resin cockpit options to correct some of these issues that have been noted. Thanks! Scott
  12. Edgar, Great info on the headrest, I was already getting ready to add one to mind. Ron, can't wait to see those weathered pictures. Here is a duplicate post of mine from another Spitfire thread: Edgar, Ron, guys, Not to hijack this thread - but in relation to this build - what are the main differences between a MK V cockpit and a Mk IX cockpit? Isn't it essentially the same bird in the office but with a different engine, airframe changes? (running for cover - I am definitely NOT a boffin) Specifically, would the IP, seat, and floor be the same? Also, is there an equivalent walk-around type book that shows photos of Spitfire Mk IX cockpits that could be recommended? TIA, Scott

  14. Man, that has got to be one of the prettiest Spitfires I have ever seen. Can't wait to see the weathering - I like your choice of Payne's grey. Don't worry about the roundels - live and learn. I am not sure even if you moved them forward if they would completely fit. As you eluded to, your next one will be better. I got this kit because you have really showed what can be done with it. One thing, though - I still don't see the marks from the Blu-Tac. Are they gone? Thanks for sharing, Scott
  15. Ron, Where are the marks from the Blu-Tac you were referencing in the other thread? It looks perfect to me... I was going to get some but not if it mars paint and clear coats. Can you post some close ups showing it? Thanks, Scott
  16. There is an extra frame on both sides of the windscreen that doesn't belong on the E. Not sure about the K or other versions like the N. You have to sand the extra frame off then polish both sides. Doesn't seem to be too difficult HTH Scott Gentry
  17. Larry, Thanks for the correction. I keep forgetting about the different equations going up and going down. But I think I have it straight now. Now the tricky parts... scanning, manipulating, printing... Scott
  18. Great stuff! you are really flying! Can't wait to see those rivets under some paint... Thanks Jamie! Scott
  19. Sweet - that will be a must have. Very nice with that large K tail... Scott Gentry
  20. You can put me down for a Tempest. I just ordered a Tiffie from MDC, man, they would look sweeeet sitting together on my shelf. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see the finished kit - that wing is going to be one big ole' hunk of resin!!! Scott Gentry
  21. Man, that is one SWEEET Spitfire. GREAT job... Scott Gentry
  22. ...Specifically scanning and manipulating artwork and then printing them on an inkjet printer. Is there a 101 type course, post, or article anyone can point me to? Or, in lieu of that, any pointers or help. Now I have figures out (pretty sure - I think) that I would need to enlarge a scan by 133% to go from 1/48 to 1/32, but what resolution should I scan at? 600 dpi? 1200 dpi? I also have a backup option of having a couple of graphic artists who work for me that could recreate is as original art, at least the stars, numbers, etc... but I would rather scan and print artwork from photos or decal sheets if I can. I have already paid for books and decal sheets, etc... My specific subject at the moment is the 1/32 P-39. I have a whole bunch of 1/48 decals, but there is a total of only one, yep, count 'em - one, aftermarket decal sheet available for this aircraft, and I am not very interested in doing the eleventy-billionth recreation of Air-A-Cutie. (No offense intended to fans of the flying nekkid lady) I would really like to do a Russian 'Cobra. TIA to all. Scott Gentry didiumus@yahooNOSPAM.com remove NOSPAM
  23. It looks great - the instrument panel and engine look fabulous. You said "it needs more weathering" in the cockpit. Are you going to do some washes? Some shadows would look terrific. Keep it up - looks great. Scott Gentry
  24. Great cannons! Really great work on the belts, too. I don't think I have seen that approach before. Keep up the good work. Scott Gentry
  25. Jamie - (Still love the avatar) question for you - did you use decals for the instruments of paint them? TIA, Scott Gentry PS Looking great so far.
