That's not too far off the nose I grafted onto my whiffer. I used a P-51 drop tank. Carl

Most of Grumman's product line would fit the bill: - Tomcat - Panther - Cougar - Hellcat - Wildcat - Tiger - Tigercat - Duck - F-15 Eagle - F-18 Hornet - F-22 Raptor (although only the YF-22 has been kitted in 1/32) - P-61 Black Widow

Sounds like most Toronto drivers. Who also think stopping for red lights is optional.

Thanks to @Michael931080, I can now build an F2G in 1/32. I also picked up an Aluma Coupe at my LHS. Carl

I was going to suggest Above & Below but he's on a hiatus until Sept. There's these decal from Dekls.com.au https://www.dekls.com.au/product/decals-canadair-sabres-of-112-squadron-raf-1-144-1-72-1-48-1-32/812?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=22 I have an RCAF Sabre sheet from them. Nope, I have to remind him to.clean up after himself. He also helps manage my stash by raiding it for kits I'll most likely never build. Like the odd 1/72 aircraft kits I still have. He does.play video.games but he.likes to work with his hands just as much if not more .

Our youngest son builds models. Edward's currently 12 and mostly does armour and Gundam. He's done the odd aircraft kit but nothing 1/32 or bigger. He's been to several shows with me including the Nats last year. I gave him a spare airbrush I had so he's been using that. He even has a stash. More recently we got a Bambu Labs A1 printer and he's been learning how to design and print stuff on it. Just need to get him to clean up his workspace when he's done. Although he may be learning from example. Carl

I got the boxes set today. So I can now start to figure out how to navalize the 2 seater. @Martinnfb and I have been throwing some ideas around. But first I need to finish the Spitfire PR IV. Carl

I recently received my order from Aerocraft as well. I bought the EE Lightning canopy for my recently purchased Echelon kit. Carl

I got an update from Andy's Canada yesterday that my order is finally in and shipping to me. So I may end up with it after all.

The cameras are a bit of a sticking point. They shouldn't be there like you said and if my previous recce Spitfire builds are to go by, you can't see anything anyways even if they were there. The oblique mount that comes in the conversion is very fiddly with lots of small parts. I've taken an initial crack at it and failed. Kotare does the hatch as a separate piece and AIMS include a PE one with both internal and external details. So if I leave the hatch propped open, I could have the cameras in situ.
-
Next set of fuselage mods are for the vertical camera fit. Here I marked their location using a template from an Alleycat PR XI conversion I have. I drilled the starter holes. Then using a reamer, I enlarged the holes until I had the correct diameter. The forward most hole has a double thickness again because of the kit design. This was cut away to leave just a single layer of plastic. Last mod was engraving the second fuselage hatch on the starboard side. Again I used a template from the Alleycat conversion set.

Back to the fuselage, for the oblique camera fitting I had to modify part of the fuselage. Kotare designed the kit with a false upper section that needs to be cut away. With one half cut away. With the second half done, I test fitted the cockpit tub. You can see the space needed for the camera fitting which means the shelf has to go as well. The culprit: Some careful cutting and it's gone.

Here's the one I did a few years ago using the Aviaeology decals. It's Dark Sea Grey over the original Medium Sea Grey and Dark Green. Carl -
Time for an update. Kotare mould the upper gun hatches slightly proud of the surface. These were sanded flush and I fill the gun port openings. I used some tapered sprue from Wave for the latter. Continuing with the wing mods, I noticed that I needed a different oil cooler. The MkI kits have the semicircular one but the PR IV has a circular one. The ideal solution would have been to start with the Kotare Va kit and I considered getting one to poach the oil cooler from. Then I realized that the Revell MkII kit has a circular oil cooler in it. It's also superfluous as it's incorrect for the MkII and a correct one comes in the Barracudacast correction set. So here's the Revell one. Glued together. There's a pair of locating tabs inside the circular opening that I removed once things were dry. With a bit of working making it fit, it looks the business. I also filled in the shell ejection ports at this time.

No particular significance other than I have decals for it and it's pink. At least for me.

Ohh nice, a Domelaze class battleship. Any more pics of it?

Now that's a nice touch.

My wife doesn't say anything about it. My bench is in our unfinished basement which is otherwise just storage space. It beats building models on my lap in the hallway in our last condo.
-
I did a similar mod. I used wire anchors to hold the shelves up. The shelf then just rests on top. This is a pair of Detolf units that I siamesed together into a single larger case. Holds 1/3 more compared to 2 single units. Here's a listing for them on Amazon. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00PZOVDOS/?coliid=I1TP3IXVVRONJV&colid=2SMN2EYISR3E&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_gv_dp_it You can find them form other sources as well. Hope that helps. Carl

Organized chaos is probably the best way to describe it. I'll have to tidy up at some point in the next couple months as we're redoing the basement and I'll be relocating to a different part of it.

"Hold my beer..." A general overview: My main bench where I do most of my building. The painting area/spray booth: The " I can't reach stuff because I've piled too much in front of it" section of the bench. I think this is where I lost my FB317 Badger model. Carl

Here you go: The gunsight is replaced with a box to control the cameras. The box is resin and there are a couple PE panels to add.

The IP needs to have some new details added to it. The stock kit one: And after I've mangled the removal of the unnecessary details. I used Mr Surfacer 1000 to try and smooth things out a bit. While I had the Mr Surfacer out, I started filling in the gun access hatches on the wing.
