Bruce Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 (edited) I'm building this a/c in honor my good friend and pilot training mentor. I'll be using the Revell E model with numerous modifications and extra parts that I've either made, borrowed from other kits, bought, or made molds and cast copies here are just some of the pieces. I made a copy of the Tamiya canopy rail area and canopy frames. I have grafted the rail to the Revell fuselage and will use the frames and extra glass from Tamiya. On the Revell kit I cut just under their canopy frame and in front of the instrument shroud. I then grafted my resin copy of the Tamiya area. The reason for doing this is I'm using the more correct canopy glass from a Tamiya kit and am using a Avionix cockpit set Edited January 16, 2018 by Bruce LSP_Paul, Kagemusha and Daniel Leduc 3
LSP_Paul Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Very Cool and Welcome Bruce! Going to be a great project. please post pictures of the rest of the kit parts as well when you can! Paul

Paul thanks Paul but I think I've got everything covered. I've got about every seat that was made and exhausts, etc. I just have to decide on the seat I'm going to use. I even have the pitot tubes from Master-model
P Stoner Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Very good choice of Phantom. I know what it's like to have soo much F-4 stuff! Paul
Bruce Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 One of the things I deceded to do was to deepen the wheel wells and add my engine bay set. I cut out the wheel wells leaving only the landing gear mounting points and I cut out the door 81L & 81R locations. I made some molds from the Tamiya wheel well parts (modified a little) and added them to the Revell wheel wells. I painted my engine bay set and added some extra piping using lead fishing line. inside view with Tamiya copy/modified resin parts. from the bottom, not perfect but better than the original LSP_Paul and Derek B 2

Really beings the Revell kit up to par Great work! Paul
Bruce Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 some of the other parts and such....I'm using the Aim-9s and centerline tank from Tamiya kits and I cast copies of the outer wing section from a Revell RF-4C kit. I will remove the strengthening panels since at this point the F-4E didn't have them. I have also remove them from the horizontal stabs. Bruce
Guest Peterpools Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Bruce Sure is looking good right out of the blocks. Keep 'em coming Peter
Bruce Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 (edited) thanks guys for all the good comments. I've got my decals all lined up. I'm using a set from Monokio Productions, and a probably 30 year old set from Micro Scale 32-30 for the tail numbers. Monokio Productions website is: www.monokio.com Edited May 4, 2014 by Bruce
