Just about everything! Not so keen on Aircraft up to 1918 but I have a growing interest in 1930's RAF aircraft and then post WWII to date. I could include WWII as well but there are to many subjects!!

  1. I know what you mean Tony but the stress cracks in my model are hardly visible, but a pity nevertheless. It wouldn’t stop me buying another one though!!
  2. The 2000C is a very nice kit and looks like a Mirage but be very careful with the windscreen - big risk of stress cracks if you are not very careful but apparently Aerocraft does a replacement resin one. I have a built 2000C, an unbuilt 2000C and a D/N and I hope to get one for two more D/N's to build a B and either a D or an N. Superb resin cockpits from Resikit but not cheap! Oh and the colour plates for markings look great until you realise that the right half doesn't match the left half - you have to remove them to get the matching left and right images! It's just the way they are stapled together. Oh and make sure you have the correct fin cap for the variant you are modelling - 3 options. The new Mini Modellers Data File is also worth getting for the Mirage 2000 IMHO.
  3. I wonder if the likes of Hannants will stock Kittyhawk kits again?
  4. Thank you for the images of your parts. I would start with your basic AD-5 'Fat Face' conversion as a basis and then scratch build the AD-5W interior. I need to understand how the basic rear canopy differs from the 'W' in shape to see if I could use that either 'as is' or as a pattern to cast in opaque resin and then to alter to get the correct 'W' shape or even to plunge mould in card. The latter would probably be the best option. No rush with this project though! Not doubt someone will produce a brand new conversion before I get my act together!!
  5. Hi Martin, I'm afraid that my skillset doesn't extend to 3D printing sadly! Looking at the photos ScottsGT has posted and reference to the BRAZ radome I have then the BEAZ radome seems shorter at the back - the Fisher one seems longer and more tapered in plan view. Its a matter of deciding what the correct radome shape should be - and I suspect that Paul's is much more accurate - and then either 3D printing one or maybe playing with filler and card to modify the BRAZ one. And then, yes, an adapter to fit the Skyraider. I assume it will be identical, whether AD-5W or Skyraider AEW1 care of the FAA ?
  6. They are quite different aren’t they?
  7. Hi Martin, I would expect that radome to go right through from Avenger to Shackleton but I guess its a matter of refinements here and there and once you have that large chunk of resin to play with then you can adjust it accordingly! Im thinking of making a mould to cast a couple of copies (Avenger plus Fleet Air Arm Skyraider) but I wouldn't be surprised if some enterprising soul came up with a 3D printed one, possibly with alternative adaptors! Simon
  8. Hello again, Unfortunately Scott can’t help. Can I PM you my email address then maybe you could email me a scan of the AD-5W instructions? Unfortunately I can’t PM you as apparently your In Box is full!! My email address is mail@simoncornes.plus.com Simon
  9. I have a large chunk of resin which was designed for a Grumman Avenger AEW conversion and Im pretty sure its the same radar and radome with just the need to adjust it to fit using Paul's photos for reference. Thats the theory anyway! Any unused bits might come in useful! Thanks
  10. Hi, I am lucky to have a copy of Paul Fisher's AD-5 conversion but I really wanted an AD-5W Guppy! Does anyone have a copy of the Guppy instructions they could email me a scan of so that I could refer to Paul's photos? I have downloaded photos from his website but the photos in his instructions speak volumes! In addition, does anyone have any spare decals from the 5W conversion that they could let me have? Many thanks Simon
  11. That’s very sad Pete but you know what you’re doing and why. You never know, after a decent length of time, maybe measured in months if not years then you may have a change of heart but if the mojo isn’t there then no point in forcing it.
  12. It will no doubt be at the Royal Mail facility near to Heathrow and I bet it’s going to be there for a fortnight. I’ve had quite a few imports where the tracking is great to the U.K. then it vanishes and the next thing you know is a big box on the doorstep! I think that’s how it was for my Viggen a couple of years back anyway!
  13. Well done Pete, I have this kit in my stash , waiting for the day to come!
  14. Any updates on the Zimi story?
