Really nice stuff going on here.  Good show, Kels.

'I can't think of a practical way to get the serrated edge'

Possible lying this down as a guide and using a standard eye glasses screw driver to impress into the paint.

Kels, this rocks. How did you do it?

Jim

Thanks C-dude,

I lightly roughed out the area with an airbrush to get the "flow" shapes then mixed brown and black paint with lots of floor cleaner (as both a thinner but also to get a glossy look to contrast with the more matte hull) and painted in the streaks carefully.

I tried to split off the streaks as they hit panel lines creating new streaks on the other side if that makes any sense.

I did it over several stages, to build it up - just in case I went to big too early!

I hope that is a clear enough description, but there's really nothing to it :)

Kels.

DONE!!!!

...And what a relief :)

Just in time for the New South Wales model show in Sydney this Saturday.

Looking forward to participating in my first competition.

I kind of rushed it in the end, but I imagine you all know that feeling of just wanting to get the beggar over the line.

Anyway, here are some snaps of the finished article and thanks for following along.

Cheers,

Kels.
