BC Dezign
I was perusing the LSP Data Base when i saw entry number 1414 was a 1/32 H-34 Choctaw from Revell Germany. From all the kit shows and model swap meets I have attended I have never seen one. So i searched the web and still found no other reference to a 1/32 Choctaw. On another try i searched for the Revell Germany kit number referenced on the LSPDB (4467) and found that it is the 1/48 R-G Choctaw. What I need to know, is the LSPDB errant in reporting a 1/32 Choctaw or does the data base just have the wrong kit number? Has anyone else seen this particular model? I'd really like to get my hands on one. Thank Guys Brian http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/style_em...ult/frantic.gif
BC Dezign
Don't know what you saw, but Revell has never had, and has no intentions that I know of to do such a model. They did have a 1/48 UH-34 kit, but the molds were damaged beyond repair several years ago, so it will not be reissued. The 1/48 kit was also done as a Wessex. J Thanks Jennings: it's listed on the LSP Data base: http://www.largescaleplanes.com/Marketplac...st/kit_list.php It is entry 1414. I had a feeling it was an error but wanted to investigate to make sure.
famvburg
Sounds like that entry needs removing. LSP_Matt
Mmmm....wonder if that was a typo...meant to be the HH43 Kaman Huskie?
LSP_Kevin
It does indeed look like an error, so I have removed it. If proof that the kit does indeed exist subsequently surfaces, we can put it back. The database itself has been compiled from a variety of sources, mostly through the hard work of LSP member Slartibartfast. Since converting it from a static list to an online database, we've employed (at great expense!) a team of editors to help add, correct and flesh out the info contained therein. We see it as a great resource, but acknowledge that it does contain errors, which we continue to work towards eradicating. Posts like this one help a great deal, so thanks for your contribution Brian! There are a plans afoot to incorporate a feature whereby someone can notify us directly if they spot an error in the database. Kev
Jack
As already mentioned, the 1/32 scale is a typo, since indeed RG has only released the chocktaw and wessex in 1/48 scale, i have both these kits, and surely would like to see them in "the" big scale. JamesHatch
Where did that entry come from?
LSP_Kevin
Where did that entry come from? Who knows? Bruce already had over 1500 entries in the list before the conversion, and he used a variety of sources to populate them, including the Internet, the PAK book (or whatever it's called) and kit stashes the world over. It's not the first errant kit in the database, and it probably won't be the last. Kev
rock1947a
Combat Models lists a vacuform 1/32 H-58 Seabat. S-58 was the Sikorsky company designation for the H-34 Chocktaw (per Wikipedia).
