What is it with Hobby companies that practice bad business or just don't give a darn?
In early 2009 I bought an Anigrand 1/72 C-17 and I was very excited about this cool but very expensive purchase. When I got it home I discovered it had a warped/bowed-in fuselage. I sent an e-mail to Anigrand about it and it went unanswered. Now, multiply that times 10.
This past weekend at the IPMS Nats in AZ. I talked with one of the vendors that was supposedly the guy that started Anigrand. I figured it's my lucky day, so I proceeded to explain my problem to him. He said he was aware of the warpage and that they had made a correction set to fix the problem, as well as a couple of other issues. I said "That's great! can I have one?" he said "Sure, for $60"... Whaaaaaaaat???
I asked if the newer kits were packaged with the new updates and they are.
Today, if you bought one, it is $40 cheaper than when I bought mine and today's boxing is the corrected version. So in fact, those that buy one now get the corrected version for $185. Meanwhile, I — who spent $225 on the original but apparently incorrect and flawed kit — has to spend an additional $60? Does this seem fair to you? The guy that supposedly started Anigrand didn't care.
And why does Steven's International act like we should all bow down and worship them? It took me over a year to get replacement parts from them.
Ok, i'm done griping now.
