oyoy5
I have the Hasegawa A-5 which includes almost enough parts to do the A-8 except for the upper gun cowling. Edited December 25, 2020 by oyoy5

LSP_Ray
I think the original Quick Boost cowl was made for the Hasegawa? If not I know Eagle Editions made an A-8 gun cowl for the Hasegawa as I have one somewhere in the pile. LSP_K2
oyoy5
Thanks I was wondering if anyone has used the Eagle parts cowl for the Hasegawa Fw 190A-8. I had their D-9 gun cowl and it did not fit well at all. I may have gotten a bad part or mold not sure but I went with quickboost.
dashotgun
I used the d 9 panel and it fits about as poorly as the real one did. These aircraft were banged out and we make them look a lot nicer in miniature then they were in real life Edited December 25, 2020 by dashotgun coogrfan
mywifehatesmodels
Also, be aware that, to go back and forth between A-5 (8mm MGs) and A-7/8 (13mm guns) requires a change to the upper engine cowl for the gun troughs, as they are shorter for the later variants. oyoy5
Very good information thank you for that I will have to fill in the Trough with putty which is easier than carving them out for sure.
Gary Needham
Oyoy5 - I think the A5 version kit which you have is now quite rare and desirable. Why not see if someone with a Has A-8 kit wants to do a straight swap rather than trying to make AM stuff turn it into an A8? Gary
oyoy5
You maybe right I have the Nowotny version of the Fw 190A-5.
MDriskill
The A-8 has many other differences from the A-5: + The A-8 nose gun troughs, in addition to being shorter, are farther apart + A fuel tank was added just behind the cockpit. Because of this a big round hatch was added to the undersurface + Many fuselage hatches are in different locations, also mostly because of the new fuel tank + The centerline rack was moved farther forward, and its rear fairing lengthened to match + Most importantly, outboard wing armament changed from the MG FF to the MG 151 or MK 108, with different wing hatches Edited December 26, 2020 by MDriskill mywifehatesmodels and coogrfan
