imatt88
Hey all, Just a quick question, Russ did that beautiful G4 conversion a few years ago.. My question is, where did he get those scale drawings from that he used? I would like to find a set of drawings to use as well. So far, the only scale drawings I have, came with the 32nd scale vacs I've purchased over the years.. Just curious.. Cheers, Ian
mozart
I'm on the same quest Ian though there seems to be very little about that's of much value. I've scanned and printed the drawings in the back of the Squadron Bf110G4 walkaround book with the intention of enlarging them for my build but I don't know how accurate they are. One further thought; reading through Russ's thread it seems like he may have sent a set to Loic, if he received them and still has them he may be able to help. TonyT
some drawings here http://www.airwar.ru/other/drawe.html http://www.airpages.ru/eng/ephotolw.shtml https://ww2aircraft.net/forum/topics/technical.56/ Edited August 14, 2017 by TonyT
imatt88
Max, We could ask Loic Tony, I found 110 drawings. Thanks for the links. Problem is, how do I get them printed? Cheers, Ian

AlexM
Since it's about 40 cm long in 1/32, and therefore larger than a normal DIN A4 paper (or whatever strange format you are using in the USA ), I would make two copies of the pictures. One showing the exact fron halve, and one showing the exact rear halve (for example just with Microsoft Paint). Then, you can insert every halve picture for example into Microsoft Word, adjust the exact size (for example about 20 cm for every picture), print, and glue together. Before deviding the whole digital drawing into two halves, you could also draw two croses centrally above and below the actual profile, what makes alignment later easier. mozart
mozart
That was pretty much my plan Alex! Max
imatt88
I'm pretty much limited by the fact I only use my phone pretty much for everything now. I don't have a workable printer anymore. I was actually hoping to just buy a set Cheers, Ian
Old Dog
If you have a digital file most Office Depot / Office Max stores have a printing department that can print them for you pretty much to any size, you would want a reference measurement to check to see if the correct factor was used. imatt88
And that is the real problem. Without doing the math, which I'm terrible at, how do I know I have 1/32 drawings? Cheers, Ian
Gerhard
Print them on A3 paper?
imatt88
I don't know what A3 paper is. Is that the size?
fightersweep
Does anything in this list help? http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/guide/drawings.htm Did MAP used to do some G-4 plans? I seem to remember them being advertised in modelling magazines back in the 70's and 80's. Could be just my fading memory though. mozart
I don't know what A3 paper is. Is that the size? Yes Ian it's a paper size (twice A4 which is a standard paper size) but not many private individuals have the luxury of an A3 printer, hence Alex's suggestion of splitting the drawing up into manageable chunks, which is what I did for a vacuform Anson that I'm building. I don't know how Russ got his plans to 1/32nd size but I used a 1/32nd kit part, say a wing, as my "yardstick", enlarged the scanned drawing which started life as 1/72nd until it fitted the kit part then noted the amount I'd had enlarged the drawing, say 250% then applied that to all other bits of the plan. Probably not the best way but it worked for me surprisingly well! We'll get there by hook or by crook! Max
imatt88
Steve, Thanks for the link. I hope to find something there... Max, Let's hope so. I'd like to find drawings of other aircraft as well. The drawings the came with my Combat Model's Ju 88 and Me 410 are so good and detailed, I'll probably frame them when the kits are finished..
