Hey Joel, I missed your recent question, sorry buddy. I do plan on doing some various panel shading and will probably use either AKs Metalizers or Model Maters not sure yet.

Chris,

    No problem.

I've used MM Metalizers, as well as Alcads, which is my favorite by far. As far as the Metalizers if you go that way, just use the buffing type. the finish is really quite nice.

Wonderful progress and the NMF is looking mighty nice. I'm a little puzzled why you choose to go with Floquil instead of staying with AK or Alclad's? I've found if a more oxidized, weathered look is needed, use a gray base primer and then AK or Alclad Aluminum on top.

Looking forward to your next update

Keep 'em coming

Hey Peter, Thanks for the comments. I guess I was trying to get more of a Shiny air frame out of the paint than having it be oxidized. I was going to go the AK Metalizer route but decided to go with Old Silver Floquil paint and  I am pretty happy with how it turned out and will try to polish it up a bit for some extra zing. I have a couple of pics of the Enola Gay that show it fairly new looking and shiny. Tell me what you think, I all ways Value every ones input. Thanks.

She does look very clean and shinny. If the Floquil Silver rendered the effect you were after; that's all that counts.

I have the 1/48 kit and am just looking at it.  That's it.  Just looking.

great job on the cockpit and fully understand the lack of weathering and detail up front - closed up you really don't see much.

IMHO don't go to town on the exterior weathering.  From what I've seen, they were not really beat up.  Easier on you too!!

Hey Guys, I did a little repaint on the B-29 again this weekend. The paint job I did last week on it was OK and it had a few flaws still showing through as well as some dust in the paint so I bit the bullet and repaired the flaws and repainted her again and it came out much better than the last session. I hope to get decals on her by Next weekend, but until then enjoy the blindingly shiny Model and maybe wear some sunglasses so you don't get Blinded by science. :punk:
