Youngtiger1
Wow...Kevin, you are a brave soul my friend. I would be sweating bullets even having the thought of cutting up a model of this size and let alone $100 bucks. But, I trust you're idea/plan in the end will pay off grater return. LSP_K2
wow! I gotta see this one sometime Kevin. Well, with any luck, I'll have it all wrapped up by our September invitational down by Six Flags, if you don't see it before then.

LSP_K2
A little grinding, and it's pretty well flush on the bottom right now; not perfect mind you, but acceptable, as the water will cover it anyway.
LSP_K2
Decks are now sanded flush, and just need a little touch up, then it's P.E. time! (I have two Eduard sets.)
jeroenpeters
Whiiiihooo! lovely. Here's a pic I took last year in Bretagne. These bunkers are so strong we only have one option nowadays. Use them... We also have some Schnellboot and U-boot bunkers here in the netherlands a few kilometers from where I live. They have tried to destroy these things after the war, without result. Now they are used for storage and cultural activities. Great work Kevin. Cheers, Jeroen Edited March 5, 2012 by jeroenpeters LSP_K2
LSP_K2
Nice photos Jeroen. It seems doubtful that I'll ever get to see them in person;... I envy you.
LSP_K2
Before I assemble the conning tower, I sprayed the interior of this area black to ensure no light colored plastic would show inside.
LSP_K2
About the only really awkward item to add later would be the P.E. handle on the bridge hatch, so I went ahead and installed it now.
LSP_K2
With the conning tower now assembled, only light shows through.
LSP_K2
Stern P.E. went on OK, but needed a little help from the diamond file.
LSP_K2
Bow P.E. also needed a little help, but is a nice improvement.
