Loic
Awsome work so far. I can not wait to see progresses. Once this big step of building the main structure is done, the actual work can start withn the upper structure and its details... I just can not imagine how much details one can add to such a project. I will keep an eye on this one for sure and what a nice compagnon this would make for my Kate and her nasty torpedo Cheers, Loic

dodgem37
Does this planking represent the armored plating ring or does it represent the hull plating? Thank you. Sincerely, Mark
rammstein
hello all, thanks for the kind replies. @dodgem37 : the plating represents the hull plating. @loic : your Kate will not come very close , my AA will blast her out of the sky regards, Rammstein
rammstein
hello all, it has been a long time since I posted something shame on me. The tubes have arrived , the hull has been glued together and start is made with the deck. the tubes are glued on the frames. the aft deck. the front part , I have to correct the stem , it was not the right shape. regards, Rammstein
dodgem37
Rammstein, Are those tubes special order single length, cut to length? Or are they butt-joined together? I really like what you're doing. All of those structural supports and ribs and stuff. Very neat, in both craftsmanship and grooviness. Sincerely, Mark

JRutman
This project has really inspired me. I was even thinking about buying the old Lindburg"Blue Devil" larges scale destroyer. It was on sale at Ollies for about $20. J
richdlc
now that's some project! any thought on how you are going to display it? It would look awesome plowing through the waves, maybe in some kind of bob letterman style 'superdiorama' Or maybe in a drydock swarming with figures
rammstein
hello all, I will show how I do the hull plating. first I tape a piece of styrene plate to the hull , the plate is 0.25mm thick. then place a piece of MDF plate at the back and cut the plate level with the deck. because the hull plating just below the deck , is everywhere the same I made a template. place a pencel in the opening and mark. cut the surplus of styrene away , sand and glue into place. I will place a figure with my boat , so you can imagine to size of the ship. The figure is by Verlinden. the next 3 photo's are of the stem , complete hull and center part. @ richdic , I think I am going to place the ship in a diorama , probably plowing through the waves. enjoy, Rammstein
