A question...the kit instructions appear to indicate the cockpit floor should be painted gunmetal.

 

Is that accurate? Was it metallic with non-skid or something like that?

 

Just wondering.

Hi Tim

here is mine,its not finished but all the referance pic's i have point to the floor being green.So i just painted the floor and then went about weathering the whole lot,the floor is metal but was painted overin cockpit green.

I suspected as much...I shall do the same. Time to practice those silver dry-brushing skills!

Hi all here are some of the last few pic's of my now98% done cockpit for the Mossie,shes all togather now drying ready for the sand down in the morning and maybe a first coat of primer paint.

Thats it the model is now all togather drying ,sanding tomorrow then paint.

Clive, well done mate.

 

I have been involved with an FB-VI Mossie over here for quite some years and you have the wear in the cockpit spot on. The floor by the entrance weathered just like that. I echo the other comments, the leather looks fantastic.

 

Cant wait for mine to arrive on our shores!

To put it simply....Dude, you are the man! Love the look of the leather on the seats. One of the most realistic executions of that I have ever seen! Please keep us posted often!
