  1. I have stuff sent to a friend in Chicago. It’s then sent on to me declared as a gift that’s how I bypass the powers that be. But yes, it is annoying not being able to deal direct as they are the only source for some product lines.
  2. When I checked last week Sprue still had the message up that they weren’t shipping here.
  3. I like the Camera ports. I’ve been wanting to do an FR.IX for a while.
  4. I suppose another question is how does all this software work with Apple stuff as I have a Mac desktop. Would I need a drawing pad and stylus or is it all mouse dragging stuff?
  5. Well deserved. I'd hate to see a model that could beat it. I'm sure it would have me packing all my stuff off to eBay because your projects come quite close to that as it is.
  6. Thanks for the in depth answer Timmy. That canopy is really quite impressive. I was lucky enough to see the Jaguar down low in its natural habitat many times growing up in the middle of one of the main UK Low Fly Training areas. Was even lucky enough to catch their final flight through but not from my usual perch on the hillside but our back garden, or back yard if you will.
  7. Makes some kind of sense that Eduard had a hand in the decals. They have released a raft of 1/32 P-51D decals (4 sheets I think I’ve seen) recently. Some of them nice lesser known schemes that are tempting. Nice that they have gone with lesser known schemes not the same old ones. Contrary to popular belief there was more than 2 or 3 units and a dozen pilots in the 8th Air Force. Says he, bravely whilst doing his Tamiya P-51D in Big Beautiful Doll markings, but at least its the Yellow Nosed version!
  8. Thanks Radu. The Galland Armour was just an example and the first that popped in to my head.
  9. Indeed Kev, I watched YouTube, read articles but I’d rather get the input of the members here who understand the requirements of the hobby and whatnot. The information out there can just leave you bewildered otherwise.
  10. Have toyed with the idea of getting myself a printer for a bit now having seen what others have been capable of creating on here. I wouldn’t be looking to do big projects, more small detail pieces like say for example Trumpeter 1/24 109G-6 Late which for some reason they included the correct Galland Panzer head armour but made it completely solid, even the armoured glass is solid grey, so lets take that piece as an example for my questions. Is it possible to print clear resin or would I have to creat the part without the armoured glass and then work another way to make the glass (clear styrene sheet or whatever). Is it as simple as finding a good photograph of the real thing and importing it in to software and go from there to create a piece? Does all resin need UV Curing booths? I have many more questions, such as what Printer would be best for my intended purposes? I know that will get me many answers from whoever owns what printer but I’d basically like a good quality machine which would be happy making small parts in a good quality with minimum layer lines or whatever you want to call them, basically I’d like to keep sanding to a minimum as they’d be small parts and not say to sand. That then leads to which software to use? I know it will require time and many failed prints to learn but that’s fine.
  11. Checked the eBay store also after finding it by accident, the full product line doesn’t seem to be on there. Looking to order some stuff for my Super Hornet and F/A-18A+ Aggressor.
  12. https://www.jadlamracingmodels.com/revell-03838-p-51d-mustang-late-version-1-32-plastic-model-kit/ £36.95 here though its not in stock yet. I can recommend their service. For a box of that size it’s usually a cardboard sleeve tightly bound in a mailing bag. That’s normally ok with something like a Tamiya box but a Revell one, well, I’d buy myself another kit so that they had to put it in a bigger box, makes sense y’know….
  13. I was feeling the same way on reading this having seen you slog through the Helldiver kit. Holding out hope for the Vampire too. The Beaufighter is just one of those brutes that looks like it means business like the Razorback P-47.
  14. Bought the big Trumpeter EA-18G yesterday, which will be built as an F model, from what I’ve read the EA-18G kit better represents a current F model of the Super Hornet. As is my way I’ve bought the kit before reading about its shortcomings and failings. I have ordered a set of Phase Hangar Resin Pylons so that is one area of the kit shortcomings sorted out. However the wingtip launch rails of the kit are pretty weak, so does anybody know of any 1/32 LAU-127s? And how different are they to the ones on say, an F-16 which I believe is the LAU-128. Waiting on Quinta to release a set for this kit too. Hoping they do so as some of the cockpit detail looks soft.
  15. Dave, I’m looking at placing an order for some Hornet Pylons and other Hornet stuff, I don’t see a shipping option for the UK? Did you stop sending here?
  16. Not all of them are the Collector sets, some are regular sets. There’s a few more of the Star Wars scene ones dotted around the room. The Millenium Falcon is not the crazy £500 version. I am mulling the Star Destroyer though. Pretty sure I’ve got a few of the Star Wars Helmet sets coming for Christmas too. And an R2-D2 was on the list.
  17. I love the Collector sets. Have several of them. Doing the Space Shuttle at the moment. Got back in to it when they released the Saturn V. Probably won't be getting the Titanic though. Not that interested in the subject matter, whereas the ones I do own like the Star Wars and Batman sets and the Space sets I'm interested in. Runs to about the same cost as some of the Star Wars large sets that I have been very tempted by and am considering one of them as my 40th Birthday present to myself.
  18. Hopefully they do the canopy window blister properly and not as a stick on bit like HKM. Oh yeah, and I may have mentioned once or twice, I’m hoping for the nose only kit eventually.
  19. If it were a real intercept you very likely would have heard a Sonic Boom, the only time its cleared overland in the UK is for QRA and QRA launches go hand in hand with Sonic Booms, which naturally make the news due to how infrequent they are here. Again though, USAFE would have no jurisdiction to intercept here. Even if they were the nearest assets they wont have been armed like the dedicated QRA Jets of the RAF. It will have been an exercise. Stanstead being the dedicated Airport for intercepted aircraft to be escorted to and met by the authorities. The usual QRA log websites show no QRA launch since August. I have heard USAFE F-15s doing practice intercepts on my scanner, usually one section of F-15s from the formation usually being intercepted by the other 2.
  20. It would have been a training exercise. USAFE have no ‘jurisdiction’ over UK Airspace for intercepts, unless in times of extreme business such as an Armada of Enemy Aircraft on the horizon. QRA in that region is handled by Coningsby based Eurofighter Typhoons, RAF Lossiemouth based Typhoons handling the North Sea Approaches to UK Airspace. Lakenheath is home to 3 F-15 Squadrons, 2 are F-15e and a single F-15C squadron forming the 48th Fighter Wing or the ‘Liberty Wing’.
  21. No problem Damian. I just couldn’t recall if it had been mooted as a future project or not.
  22. I’m hoping they eventually do a nose only kit like HKM did. I don’t know if the breakdown of the kit will allow it but I’m really impressed by the photos I’ve seen so far. Still no room for the full kit though. Saving my pennies for the giant Lego Star Wars AT-AT Collector Edition kit when that comes out as my 40th Birthday present to myself.
  23. Damian, any plans to make any for this series of kits? Just purchased an F/A-18A+ Kit yesterday.
