  1. I guess while we're on the subject of big kits, besides the B-25 and the F-4 being announced they announced on 3/7 they were going to do a MiG 21. http://www.21stcenturytoys.com/area21/arti....asp?newsID=257 Mark H.
  2. Why don't you save the hassle and buy the Rutman resin kit of the Ta 152H? Wouldn't that be a better start? think how much time and effort you'll be saving. Mark H.
  3. OK, Besides C-21 doing a 1:18 Phantom they have just announced a 1:18 scale B-25. Check out the web site. http://www.21stcenturytoys.com/ Mark H
  4. http://www.21stcenturytoys.com/ Forgot to say look at the Latest News update for the F-4 announcement
  5. Check out the IN PROCESS section of this website and almost at the very beginning of that section, or should I say nearly at the end of the section when it first started. I started on the MiG 15 before anyone new about Trumpeter and the 15 and the 17 were their first releases. The 15 is a almost exactly a scaled up version of Tamiya's 1/48 kit. Never got around to finishing the 15 but there's a good write up I did for the most part of what I did. Mark H.
  6. Fred, Why not do the Ar 234? Craftworks is about 3-4 years behind on when they were suppose to release their resin one and with all of the kits that Trumpeter has listed I'm sure that by the time you get one done it will come out in plastic in 4 years! Isn't that always the case?
  7. I have a similar issue I need help on, but it's about cutting stainless steel (S/S) microtubing I use for gun barrels, etc. for some of my 1/72 (gasp) A/C. I've tried the razor saw and it sometimes works but it's a pain to cut through the S/S. I've also inserted smaller dia. s/s tubing to keep from crushing the outer one but when you cut through both pieces it's hard to get the smaller tube out since they've been almost compressed together. The tube cutter won't work because it doesn't go down to the small sizes I use. Any suggestions for cutting short length S/S microtubing without investing hundreds of dollars on a microtube cutter that are advertized on a couple of sites? Marl H.
  8. If we're on Japanese A/C AND twin engine let's put in for the Ki-45 and Ki-46!!!!
  9. I too use to have one. I sold it a few years ago to Hugo Gracia. Don't know if he's still lurking around on the board anymore. It's very plain. Doubt if there will ever be an injection molded one. It toof forever just for the 1/72 and 1/48 ones to come out. Mark H.
  10. Not sure if this is old news or not but I was surfing around and checked out Stevens International Website and saw that they now list a 1/24 scale Bf 109K4 as TBA. Stock #2418 (I wonder what's in between 2414 and 2418 too?) Mark H
  11. Also, did you see the product number for the Intruder. Its 2249. We can only imagine what's inbetween. Mark
  12. That's a great paint job. With the new decals out for Eagle Editions I think a nice early grey scheme would be nice. You hardly ever see one of those. Mark
  13. [Mark, The intake sideplates look pretty good in the pics? Did you do a pattern or ? for those sideplates? If so can you show it on the forum? I've read your MIG article several times hoping that part 2 would show up!!!!!! thx, Brian ] Brian, I'll have to look in my Mig 15 box. I think I made a pattern or two or three and kept tweaking the front part to try and come up with the right fit where everything comes together. Maybe this will give am an opportunity to try out my new digital camera on some macro pictures or to even do a scan on my new printer. Mark
  14. Here's a write up I did shortly after the kit was released. I never made it to part 2 of the build. This was well before Cutting Edge released the cockpit and tires, etc and the Squadron canopy. The biggest thing holding me back is doing the intakes against the side of the fuselage. My initial technique in the write up didn't work very well at the very front of the kit with the convergence of the splitter plate and the nose cap. https://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/article.php?aid=341 Mark H.
  15. Does anyone know what Hobbyland is asking for the pre-order price for the 262? I lost my catalog and I hate their new web site. Mark H.
  16. After looking at all the pictures again the plane looks great but it looks like it's sitting to high, as if there is no load on the main gear. Just a slight nitpick. Doesn't it seem that Trumpeter is in a similar release pattern like last year. Didn't we start to get a bunch of releases in late August/early September last year with the F-105 leading it off and going through Feb./Mar. of this year with the Avenger (or did the Avenger hit a little later than March)? Mark H.
  17. I think there are to many rivets. They should have been more subtle since they were suppose to be filled in and sanded over to make the Me 262 as smooth as possible. I'll also agree with Tim C. that that long clear piece has to be the the armored windscreen. Mark H.
  18. Tim C. I don't think that long clear piece is the armored glass for the windscreen because it's frosted. Mark H.
  19. Jeff, Thanks for the link! I think the wing tips need a little more washout from what I see but generally looks good with the seperate slats and flaps. I like the way they made the windscreen the way the Tamiya kit is done. What is that long piece in the upper right section of the clear parts? looks like part of the nose gear door in clear? The way the nose is done looks like there's a possibility for a Recce version. Hopefully they can do a good cannon nose version too! Can't tell if there's a possibility of a 2-seater but looks like all the major fuselage pieces are on that one sprue with all the hatches on a seperate spure. Just need to have a seperate spure for the 2-seater as a swap out. Looks easy enough to do. Ah, the option for plastic or white metal L/G and plastic or rubber tires. Not sure if I like the way they did the engine nacelles. More seam lines to clean up but I guess they did it that way to accommodate the clear sprue nacelles. Mark H.
  20. I see it listed on Steven's International website but where did the information that the A2a would be out in November come from? I've seen where the A1a is suppose to be out in August. Also notice on Steven's website that there's a missing number in Trumpeter's sequence. We can only hope that maybe it's the B1a and B1aU1 versions of the Me 262. Mark
  21. I heard direct from Roy Sutherland that they are working on a 1/18 scale Me 262. They're just starting the tooling. I remember 2 of the 3 schemes he told me they were doing. The first one will be from the NASM and another will be the overall green one with the blue and white checkerboard RVD. I can't remember the third but it was not the plane that Galland flew. Mark H.
  22. I think those prices are just a WAG by Great Models Webstore just to draw in preorders. The retail prices haven't even been posted on Steven's International. They are probably close to the right price. Look at what they are charging for the MiGs. Mark H.
  23. "He who dies with the most toys, wins!" Well, guilty on all counts. I must over over 500 kits. Just about 2 of most 1/32 injection molded kits. A whole lot of 1/72 and a few 1/48 Luft '46 kits. A number of 1/48 Luftwaffe kits "cuz they don't have 'em in 1/32!" and a small number of Sci Fi kits. Man that C-57D from Forbidden Planet is big. It's a coffee table by it's self! I can hardly wait for the 1/350 scale NCC-1701A. Ummmm.... 16" saucer section and 34" overall in length. I think I buy because like most things, "it'll either go up in price by the time I ever get around to building it or it will be gone when I want to build it only to be reissued god knows when." Mark H.
  24. The red tube is definitely aftermarket and is put around the nose strut to keep to from compressing during display. As fas as the box in front it looks like part of the nose wheel swivel device and possible towing device. If you have the Aero Detail 10 on the Me 163 and He 162 there are some good pictures on page 66. Unfortunatley I don't have a scanner or I'd send you the pictures. Perhaps another LSP person can provide them? Mark Hernandez
  25. If Joshua can do this much on a 1/24 He 162 in a few weeks why does it take Craftworks 4+ years to come out with one in 1/32 (which isn't even out yet!)? Joshua, the He 162 looks pretty good so far. Even in 1/24 it's a small A/C.
