  1. I blocked out the faces to protect my friends. I will continue to do that for the rest of the photos I post.
  2. This photo was taken during Operation TASK FORCE HAWK in Albania in 1999 next to our MH-60G Pave Hawk II. Take notice of the MRE cases and the orange life raft stuffed over the Robertson Internal Fuel Tanks. We would fly to and from our home base in Italy across the Adriatic Sea. We received a waiver to fly several thousand pounds over our normal limit... it amazed me how much stuff we would carry during war.
  3. Day 106 page 5 from the instruction booklet - see incorrect placement of Master Warning Panels (F32) and seat racks (D32 and D33) not on the Pave Hawk. We mounted other items there, i.e. the AHHS box behind the co-pilot seat frame on some models.
  4. Jake, thanks. It has been fun building as it has brought back a lot of memories. A couple of other little things I discovered - we did not have the small racks attached to the back of he pilot seats like the Blackhawk did. So I will not install them. We also carried one RED (left) and one Green (HALON on the right) fire extinguisher in the cabin. Zorro
  5. Day 107 test fitting the cockpit and crew before I commit. Next, I will detail the crew before adjusting the flight controls and position all of cockpit components.
  6. Day 104 added the Cargo Hook and made sure it could swivel. We rarely used it except during our annual qualification which required us to lift a 55 gallon drum full of cement around an LZ (Landing Zone used for training).
  7. Day 104 working on the cockpit again. I placed both sets of cyclic and collective on a tongue depressor for easy painting. The cyclic is missing the "Slew Up Switch." I will add the switches and paint them here before installation. The good thing is that on the Pave Hawk the cable is feed through the cyclic tube and exits underneath the floor.
  8. These are all "Jolly" or helo rescue squadrons. Other rescue squadrons are "King" which are the HC-130P (air refueling tankers), and "Pararescue" (PJ) squadrons.
  9. Also check-out the 33 RQS (Japan), 55 RQS (Arizona), 66 RQS (Nevada), 101 RQS (New York), 210 RQS (Alaska).
  10. Best source are each of the rescue squadron websites, i.e. checkout the 301st Rescue Squadron (301 RQS) link below. Also look up the 305 RQS, 56 RQS, 38 RQS. https://www.920rqw.afrc.af.mil/Units/920th-Operations-Group/301st-Rescue-Squadron/
  11. Thank you, there are several discrepancies within the Kitty Hawk kit instructions. The kit itself is very good, way better than the Academy kit when it comes to detailing.
  12. Day 99 Installation of all fuel transfer lines and final touch up of all retaining straps prior to weathering and final matte coat.
  13. Day 98 Robertson internal fuel tanks plumbing test fit and base coat paint on all transfer lines.
  14. Day 94 continued work on the Cabin Ceiling; added brass grommets, and data plates.
