  4. Hello. Few weeks ago I started new project, a Bf 109 F47Trop. I decided to apply rivet details this time. Some 25 years ago I was done a Bf 109 E4 trop without putty and with handbrush painting. It was Werner Schroer's markings I remember black eight with red trims... This time Marseille's turn. I hope it will worth so much effort for the riveting. I used Kagero's Top drawings for riveting plans. First marked rivet places on the parts with riveting roller, afterwards enlarged em one by one with a sharp edged hand punch from tritool. When marking places with roller I discovered that I was working more easy when not using a guide for the roller. When I tried to guide roller with a ruler or Dymo band all time encountered problems and roller left wrong trails over the model. I tried only drawing a line and use the riveting roller freehand on the line. Somehow this came to me much more easier and all time have nice results. Enlarging marks with the hand punch requires lot of attention and care due all time must apply same amount of power to the punch for having equal rivet details. Also its little dangerous when punch tool comes relatively thinner parts of the main plastic body, specially on wings. I did not noticed such places and caused some small damages on the model and on some left hand fingers. After enlargement, I sanded whole surface with number 600 wet sandpaper. Only one thing I did not like with the model up to now that there were huge long sink marks along the both wing top. This had to be filled and sanded before riveting. This was the only place I had to alter riveting line a mm to upper side due weak putty line for the riveting tool and punch but not much problem.. Cheers, nice weekends. Serhan
  5. Well this going to shelf in this way : I did not made any plane model for almost ten year. I tried many things first time for me on this build and will try more in next builds. May be I forgot many things but no problems, however if you spot basic failures please note. Hope you like it. I thank for all supportive and encouraging messages from the beginning. My Kind Regards, Serhan
  6. Thank you Kevin & Gazzas, Following paneliner some shades added with oils and dull cote applied. I regret that did not applied rivets, but will do in next ones.. Some surprises appear on canopy after opening masks.. I was used tamiya band for masking canopy and some excess liquid cement went under mask and collected inside lapping line of two bands ..Next time also will use aftermarket masking bands..

  10. Hello. I am new to site. Nowadays trying to paint Revell's Bf109 G6. I do not know how many times discussed in forum in the past, but I stuck some problem with the scheme on upper wings. Instruction sheet indicates darker areas are RLM 75 which is relatively much more lighter shade than the RLM 74 in real. I also tried to find informations from other sources but at the end my mind totally mixed and cannot decided how to go further. I also inspected build models but most are also painted according to visual shading on instructions and probably not correct. I also inspected luftwaffe camo. schemes from various sources but did not find close example showing in the instructions. May be someone has information about this case ?? I overpaint RLM 74's, will start splinter until I will have info.
