  1. Wow this is looking fantastic!! Your airbrushing skills are supurb. Anthony
  2. Thanks Mike! Thanks Denis I am going to give the riveting another go and am looking at buying the Galaxy Tools riveters. Nice tip on the prop shaft holes- hopefully i wont need to lol.
  3. Stunning work as usual! I've been referring your previous Revell 109 builds as inspiration for mine. Cheers Anthony
  4. I apologise for the lack of updates on this thread but life has rudely interrupted my modelling. I was made redundant from work earlier this year and I have been struggling a bit mentally so was lacking motivation. Anyway, I am back into it and have made some progress and will post some catch up pics. First pic is some new items i received. The fuselage is together and another reason for lack of progress is I decided to have a go at riveting for the first time ever and stuffed it up which was very disheartening. I had trouble initially keeping the lines straight, i tried dymo tape but found this was too rigid and wasn't sticking well to the rounded fuselage so ended up free handing it but this resulted in some wonky lines and required filling. I finally got what appeared to be an ok result the other day but yesterday i realised that i incorrectly had a row of rivets either side of the vertical panel line when in fact there is only 1 and and they alternate sides for each panel. Today's job is to fill the incorrect ones back in! Yesterday I began working on the Barracuda gun cowling which is very nice (but slightly small in length?). I have the Master Barrels set which are also very nice and an improvement on the kit guns but wanted to be able to add them after painting the fuselage. I was originally going to try and adapt the kit mounting pieces and end of its guns to the Master Barrels but instead found that some plastic tubing i had fit the ends of the barrels nicely so decided to just putty them onto the cowling underside. It works and means i can paint the guns separate and add them later. I also tried sliding them in to simulate doing it later and they slide fine, and I shouldn't lose them into the fuselage - famous last words lol.
  5. Hey Furie, I've just gone back over this whole thread and you have put in a lot of work and the model is looking great! As for the Gloss issue, I think it is because the gloss is an acrylic and my understanding is that it needs to cure for at least 4 days before you do any following steps. Maybe it didn't cure properly and the water from the decal cleaning just removed it where it wasn't 100% cured? Maybe try applying a fresh layer of gloss over the top and see if the marks disappear but I am no expert so see what others think of this? Keep at it as the final result will be awesome! Anthony
  6. Yes! Thank you very much. Following your build closely.
  7. Question please to any 109 experten. Does the G-6 Early have a drain tube in the oil cooler fairing. I have seen pics with and without?
  8. Thank you LSP-Kevin, mozart and Mikemaben for the warm welcome!
  9. Yes they are indeed. I've done a bit more. The exhausts fit is really nice. I've just started on the cooling scoops which again are a vast improvement. They are thin and also open where as the kit is a solid piece. removing the kit part was easily done with a side cutter and then scalpel and sanding pad. Cheers
  10. I started on the Barracuda resin exhaust set. Quality is superb and adds a lot compared to the kit parts!
  11. Hi all, I have just started my first 1/32 WW2 prop and thought I would share my progress. I've had this kit in my stash since it came out and accumulated a few extras. I have made a start in the past week and also ordered the Barracuda Studios Upper gun cowling today as I wasn't aware of it until a friend mentioned it. Thanks for looking, more to come today.
