  1. Those straps/bands may well be covered in strips of doped-on fabric to streamline them- or maybe even putty. Just guessin'...
  2. Hmmmm- those wheels in 1/48 on Shapeways, maybe- as well as that wonderful figure?
  3. Cмерть Путіну! Glad you and your family are safe. Give those bastards sunflower seeds!
  4. Magnificent and meticulous as always, Chuck. CGI = Computer Graphic Imaging. One of the best compliments I ever got on my comics art came from a 4YO girl- "It looks like a machine made it!"
  5. Just tuned in to this broadcast, Peter- WOW!! Reworking that chin radiator is the way of a a true master. Cheers!
  6. Very nice! Wishing you a full recovery and very happy holidays, John- and cheers! Chuck
  7. Thanks, guys! The next surgery is on the 15th- I'm looking forward to getting it done. For now, here's that review I dangled before you earlier- enjoy!
  8. Cataract update: the surgery was a complete success. I was cleared today with no additional lens prescription, no taping a goggle over my eye at night, and no exercise restrictions- yay! I've even scheduled the second surgery for mid-December. I was initially quite worried due to my skinny little corneas, further reduced to the absolute max by my 2012 Lasik operation. Thankfully my fears were unfounded, my vision is perfect in distance, and only needs a pair of reading glasses for, well, reading and the like. While in the healing process I played around with drawing on paper for the first time in a while and got a commission sketch done- I'll post that once it reaches it's new home. I haven't done any modeling for the past week, but I have started a kit review for a companion piece to the Mohawk. Here's a work-in-progress sketch of the special guest host, my pal Andrew (Meeting Comics Neal's Namdroid! Namdroid is a fictional '60s TV show-within-a-gag-comic, Andrew's hilarious, mature-themed Meeting Comics. I'll be posting a brief photo review of a nice little resin kit real soon- cheers!
  9. Thanks, Pete- you're too kind, pal. I'm just making it all up as I go along, and I'm happy to share the odd nut I pick up on my rambles. Cataract surgery went well, this morning- just waiting for my right eye to calm down and start working normally again- cheers!
  10. Thanks, Troy! My David Union sander and router now live full-time on my workbench and I use them all the time- cheers! Cheers, Timmy- high praise from you! I breathed a sigh of relief after seeing the hydraulics in you Jaguar nose bay- I kind sorta got things right! Shucks, Brian- many thanks! Much appreciated Kev- and thanks for all you do to make this place possible. Glad you found me, Daywalker- your kind recollections warm the rusty little cockles of my heart. When I looked at Penney Abe next to that windscreen I was amazed myself that this thing 1/48. Cheers indeed, Tom. I'm pretty chuffed for this kindness- again, my thanks.
  11. There's a bit of a curse in having lots and lots of reference on a build. I keep finding new things about the Mohawk, and have been figuring out some of the more shadowy ends as well. In spite of my soon-to-be corrected cataracts and relapsing vision problems I've actually gotten some stuff done! Come along and see just what, won't you?
  12. It's beautiful- cheers! Here's a reference pic that may help and inspire.
  13. Thanks, Maru! I appreciate your kind words and yeah, Matt was a good man and a great friend. I have so much planned for this little kit- and I hope I can make it all come true. Stay tuned!
  14. Thanks everyone- Matt was a member here- Scrodes: https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?/profile/2413-scrodes/ He was a damn fine modeler and a good friend. Thanks, LSP_Kevin! I never really left. James Rademaker- I think they're sometimes the best part. That's very much appreciated, Tom- thanks. Thanks, Troy- I think I'm finally back from my long recuperation- cheers! Thanks to you as well, Rich! I'm currently stretching my skills by sculpting all-new upholstery on the bang seats from Magic Sculpt epoxy putty. Not looking too terrible so far!
  15. Wonderful stuff, Ryan- it's the Primer Directive!
  16. Love the modulation, Oliver- cheers!
  17. HI, everyone! Here at long last is Episode 4. I've been taking things slow for a variety of reasons, like family, health, work, home and garden, and friends. Modeling has taken a back seat for a couple of reasons- mostly because my mojo has gone into a slump. A big part of that was the loss of my good friend and modelling pal Matt Odom, who recently lost his 13 year battle with brain cancer. He was a brilliant 1/32 scale enthusiast, a Canadian cop and loving family man. We communicated mainly by text and sometimes, phone. It was just too much to sit at the bench and not be able to text him a pic of my newest dumb idea, or answer a question from his ever-inquisitive mind. Add in the slow recovery from my heart surgery- which included a measure of brain fog (or 'pump brain') from the heart/lung machine. To top it all off I'm developing cataracts, even as my eyesight begin to regress with age. The latter is curable, the former demand patience and perseverance. I'm not giving up- no way! I'm just taking my time, and I hope to continue to keep sharing the joys and tribulations of this hobby with all my fellows around the globe- cheers!
  18. Here's to an easy surgery and a swift recovery!
  19. Fantastic as ever, petter- cheers! BTW, my shipment came through perfectly, and will be a great help in my shuffling Mohawk build. Thanks!
  20. That is the absolute bomb, Oliver- cheers!
  21. There's a global shipping crisis as well- ports can't handle the flow of container ship traffic. Here on Whidbey Island we've had up to 4 large ships moored in Holmes Harbor waiting for space to open up in Seattle, Tacoma and even Vancouver, BC!
  22. Thanks, Timmy! That video is a treasure trove of info- cheers!
  23. Thanks a bunch, Pete! I'll think of your post while I'm swearing my way through the main wells (again.) Wow, Timmy!- I'd better mine done before a REAL modeler steps up! Where can I see more of that )V-10 in the header of your crazy-good web site? I MUST SEE MORE! Quick question for the cognoscienti: Would Vietnam-era hydraulic lines have the colorful anodized connectors? All the refs i have are restorations. TIA!
