Okay, first a coat of MRP Grey Primer, then this........ Then this......... I've not done this before, so, . I've now got to decide what I'm going to start with, RLM66 or Nato Black. It should be interesting. I'm thinking about starting with RLM66 and then add some Nato Black. Onward!

Thanks, Mike. I'm using the Eduard PE set which actually has 4 of these sets of instruments with no explanation. I figured that the instruments were attached to the engine as shown in one of Max's photos above. The kit nacelles have a set of openings on each side which I assumed that the cover could be used on either side of the airplane. What I was wondering about was whether the engines had a set of instruments on both sides making it one less item to mess with when they were replacing an engine. It's too late now, because I've attached the engine covers.

Thanks Andy, I'll keep that in mind. I do have a C2/C7 kit to use with John's G-4 conversion, so I guess I have a little leeway.

Thanks, guys!

I've not had any problems either. Their site lists whether an item is in stock, how many in stock, or shows a due date for inventory.

Thanks guys! All the big pieces are attached. Some small pieces and a few small putty areas yet.

Squadron's "New" Squadron Scale Colors probably has those colors. I'm assuming the ship colors, but they also have aircraft colors too. If you want to use acrylic. It's what was Scale Colors (Jeff Herne).

Looks like the HKM 1/48 DB-7B Boston is out

Ya know, I thought I saw something on FB at least 2 weeks back. But when I came here there wasn't a peep and when I went back to FB to find it, I couldn't. So, I figured perhaps it was some sort of scam. At least I wasn't crazy. -
Time to start putting the big pieces together. This one might be interesting to paint.

Thanks, Iain! The wings and tail are just placed in position. Some filling and sanding are still needed.

I have this book(s), it's two volumes. Anything helpful here? Careful, one of the photos of the reproduction aircraft for the movie is reversed. Dave

Okay, a question (or more), the engine gauges that are visible in the engine cowlings, 1. There are two sets of openings in the cowlings because the cowlings are interchangeable? 2. There is only one set of gauges for each engine even though the engines positions are interchangeable ? I'm working on closing up the engine cowlings and I want to double-check. I've been slowly working on the 110. Managed to get myself into a little trouble related to the cowlings but got out of it. I've got some putty/sanding to do. I usually dislike this part mostly because I don't quite get it to my total satisfaction. I've been mulling over the 'black'. I think I'm going to start with NATO black (MRP) and that will allow me to add black in some areas. Either that or I start with Jet Black (MRP) and mix a special bottle because I don't want to have to mix it each time I paint. Dave

Now you're all set.

I have some small carbon filter devices that set inside the printer cover and are clear of the moving parts. I think they helped with the odor. I have an AnyCubic printer, so that's the name on the filters that I bought. But I'm pretty sure that I've seen the filters with other names on them. They are 1.75" square by 4.5" tall. The rechargeable battery doesn't last for a 12-hour print session.

I have a Grex QC/MAC valve and I've bought the male QC parts from various sources. I think I bought the Grex piece from SprayGunner and I think one of the places I bought the male parts from was SprayGunner too.

Looking, I can't see anything that indicates it is actually located on this side of the pond except for the reference to using USPS. A lot of US web sites list some sort of physical location and a phone number in the contact us information. Hobby Nut Models, for example, is an online only retailer, but he shows a physical location and a telephone number. The prices look to be about 40% of list prices, perhaps too low? They use Hogar (French) for Home on the web page. I found something elsewhere that seems to indicate that the creator (sulptor) of the Galaad Miniatures is a Frenchman. Someone buying collections and selling them? I guess if it's not too expensive......... I don't think I would buy from them.

BTW, I like this one because it has markings on the needle stop knob. Thinking repeatability here. It is a 0.18mm needle.

Juggernut the MAC valve is usually located in the area under the paint cup and limits air flow/pressure (depends how you view it). The knob at the back is a needle limiter. MAC valves can also be attached to the end of the air hose just before the airbrush too. Edit: added photo. The airbrush is a Gsi Creos 771 with a MAC valve and there is a MAC valve on the end of the hose just before the quick connect. Neither of which I've really used. I have a regulator and a gauge right at the edge of the table, next to the booth, and I usually just adjust the pressure there.

Close-ups after everything is glued.

Slowly. There are pieces included in the Eduard PE set that will never be seen or only be seen because I know they're there and really try to look for them.
-
Just about ready to close this up. It just needs a bit of dirt.

It looks like the upgrade over at Scale Model Paint Masks is already in progress.

I don't think that's necessary. My display name still shows, and I've been logged in using my email address and password.

Evaporation issues with My Hobby, Mr Color Acrylic lacquer paints
denders replied to Paul2660's topic in Painting & Finishing
I've noticed what I perceive as the same problem with SMS paints. It is a plastic lid and a glass bottle. I wonder if it's what is used for the seal. Both manufacturers, MRP and SMS, appear to use the same material for the seal.
