Kev, I have provided a warm, loving home to several unloved WNW kits. I'm sure I could find room for yours (and put a few bucks back in your wallet!)

The color schemes on the website are missing scheme 'C' (Rudolph 'Rudi' Windisch) and have two copies of schem 'D' (stripes.) I expect this will be corrected shortly. The instruction booklet has the Windisch scheme in it.

Report from Model Expo NZ by an on scene member of WW1 Aircraft Models Forum is that it is the Roland C.II.

You may be right, Mike. that aircraft si the rare Junkers D.III "Bendenflieger", an extremely advanced aircraft for its day. Only three prototypes were completed before the armistice and one of them was claimed by the US government as a war prize. It was shipped back to the States for technical evaluation and was last seen at the Chance Vought factory in Long Island City, NY in late 1919.

Well, if you want to stir up trouble, try this..."I don't think WNW is capable of producing kits of the same quality as the Academy Camel and the Roden Dr.I." 1...2...3 - step back! It's a joke...a joke!

The kit number (32026) indicates a single model rather than a "duelists" selection (part numbers 328xx.) I'll continue to hope for a Dolphin or Roland two-seater.

For those of you who want their own atomic arsenal, try: 1:24 Fat Man paper model and 1:24 Little Boy paper model These are well-engineered and quite detailed models. And...they are LSP qualified!

Alley Cat makes a very nice resin Bristol M.1c and Planet Models has three unusual subjects in resin: the DFW Flea, Port Victoria PV.7 and Ponnier M.1. These are usually available from Sprue Brothers and other online sources. I generally agree with the previous comments but would definitely choose the WNW versions of the DH-2, Sopwith Tripe and SE.5a (Hisso) over the Roden versions.

The Benz and Mercedes engines are two different items. The "III" is a horsepower range indicator and the "a" refers to specific engine features. I recently saw the tables for the Idflieg engine designation system in one of my references and now cannot put my hands on it. Perhaps someone else has that info? Found it! Benz Bz.IIIa = Bz - manufacturer (Benz); III - power rating (150-200; a - an upgraded engine producing higher power) Other suffixes seen are au (with an umlaut) = domed cylinder, an over-compressed engine; av or avu (domed cylinder of aluminum alloy.) It is unclear as to whether the suffixes were part of the official miliray engine system.

Coming along nicely. Leave the crankcase stains - they look very convincing. The cartridges in the ammo feed chutes are particularly well done. I'll probably end up using your build here as a guide to building mine (someday...)

Looks great, Mike. Just to put a little doubt in your head - those weren't scale weld seams you scraped off the exhaust array, were they? I remember back in the mid-60s when Revell brought out the first 1/32 Zero and modelers were scraping off the "mould lines" on the exhaust only to find out they were actually beautifully recreated weld seams from the real aircraft.

Lovely! The Aviattic "lozenge" decals may well be the best made, ever! The subtle fabric texture and choice of three conditions (factory, faded, "browned") certainly make them the most flexible in terms of appearance. Your application is flawless - keep up the good work!

Not my subject area of interest but oh my, what a beautiful build! Your lighting and photography is stunning and the closeups of the nose and cockpit are mind-boggling. Bravo Zulu!

If they are oldies, try AbeBooks.com or alibris.com - I have had great success with OOP books on aviation subjects at both these sellers.

Shouldn't his hair be parted on the left? The uniforms looked too grey and several buttons were sewn on upside-down. OK for a first effort but a few Euros spent on AM would have helped a lot.

Fly Model/GOMIX has a 1:33 in card - available from GPM (and others): http://sklep.gpm.pl/en/modele-kartonowe/samoloty/1/33/f-7-f-tigercat Could be built as is or used as a pattern for a scratch-built T-cat.

The same sprues are used for both kits. They differ only in which parts are used/not used for the various versions. Decals and instruction booklets are, of course, unique to each kit. Just got my shipping notice, so maybe they'll be here for Christmas!

Those tricky Kiwis have done it again. The Salmson 2A2 is now available to order - in TWO versions. The second version is Salmson 2A2 in USAS service. The modeling budget just took a big hit in my house.

Using Firefox, it came up as Junkers; using Explorer, it came up as DH-9. Got them ordered using Explorer but that needs fixing or some people are going to be unhappy.
