discus
Hello My conversion of the Revell P-51D into Dago Red is now complete and joined Red Baron and Voodoo on the display stand. Strega should join them soon as the Witch is being refurbished at the moment. That was my first big conversion project. I am generally not really a big fan of scratch builds but this one was fun. In the end, the most difficult part was to adjust that f**** vacuform canopy... So the basis is the revell kit. Painted with Tamyia paints (the red is a mix of gloss red x-7 with a drop of orange X-6 Chrome on the blades is from green stuff world. Unfortunatly, the photos does not show the real shine of that paint. It does look like real chrome. Only problem : it cannot be varnished and is quite prone to finger prints.... On the LG doors, I used Vallejo metal color chorme. Decals from Draw Decals. Varnish is Vallejo Polyurethane Gloss (many coats...)
