Adolf Galland's Me 109 E

Hi all,

 

The new "Aces High" GB has started and I was wondering if the 1/18 hobby Boss kit fits the rules.

I believe the decals are for Galland's 109 E.

 

But as I only brush paint.I can't do mottle.

My question is.

Did he fly a 109 E with BoB style painting ?

In other words.With high light blue fuselage sides.

Galland flew a 109E-3 during the Battle of France that fits the bill.

Hi Erwin,

it can also be a good opportunity to try the so called "sponge painting" technique.

Otherwise, what coogrfan said seams great too.

Also the stipple approach - cut the bristles of a brush very short, dab lightly into the required paint, then to the fuselage. Repeat.

I used this method for years and it works well with patience.  I'd also recommend cleaning the brush regularly to reduce build up of drying paint on the brush.
