LSP_K2
My chosen scheme for this machine (or something very similar, I'm still on the fence about that.) LSP_K2
All major engine pieces have been assembled, save for the tail pipe. You'll see why in a moment. mywifehatesmodels and Zero77
LSP_K2
And this is the problem. The pin marks aside, the giant ribs should not be there, as the MiG-15 tail pipe was rather smooth, with only a few small, flat "ribs", for lack of a better word. The real deal. LSP_K2
try to find a brass or plastic tube the right ID, save yourself a LOTTA time. Evergreen may actually make some tube this size. I wish to heck I could remember exactly what I did on my other one, as it came out real nice. If worse comes to worst, I'll just roll some plastic sheet and add the ribs. I did this with another kit, and it was a piece o' cake.
LSP_K2
Nice photos, Harv, so thanks. My engine will be buried though, as I really don't like these aircraft with the aft fuselage section removed. mywifehatesmodels and Zero77

Guest
Do you have the G Factor legs ? I have a spare. Also a full Eduards set (pit, flaps and dive brakes) if interested. The only Profi set I have for the 15 is wheels and brake set.......Harv

Shawn M
Did you get a vac canopy Kev, the kit one is just plane wrong.
Shawn M
also looking at the tail pipe, you could lay sheet stock between the "ribs" and cover the punch marks as well as make the ribs "shorter" in effect
LSP_K2
Did you get a vac canopy Kev, the kit one is just plane wrong. No I haven't, not yet anyway. Oddly enough, the windscreen (the only portion that seems really badly done), is illustrated correctly on the box art. also looking at the tail pipe, you could lay sheet stock between the "ribs" and cover the punch marks as well as make the ribs "shorter" in effect That might work, but I'll seek out some tubing or pipe first. mywifehatesmodels
Spare the very end of the pipe, would the other pin marks even be visible? I wouldn't make more work than necessary out of it, but I understand the frustration, too! Great start, Kev. Looking forward to watching this one.
