happy to help Kev, I will kick more of it your way as I get started on my. However it may be too late.

If you find a spot where you'd want the PE bits, hit me up and I will see if Im going to use them on my build.

For example, mine will have the flaps up, so if you want the flap PE lemme know.

I downloaded the instructions for the full set, but haven't really looked it over yet to see what's useful, and what's not, Shawn. If you can do that review we talked about too, that would be awesome. Either k1 or myself will upload it.

Excellent, Harv, thank you very, very much.

Interesting build and: Thank you, Harvey! :speak_cool:

But BTW:

Did you consider that Harvey might be a hidden Sith Lord who just wants to drive you mad by complicating your task with more and more "goodies"...? Hmmm :hmmm:

Thanks for the comments, fellas. OK, just to be on the safe side, I've reinforced the aft fuselage seam with some thick plastic strips. This, combined with the entire assembly being butt welded together, should prove amply strong.

With the interior reinforced, Squadron green has been liberally applied. (I'll fine tune it later, using Tamiya white.)

If you build this kit, and if you use the kit tail assembly, and if you articulate the rudder (that's a lot of ifs), the rudder mass balance will need to be relocated to the rudder itself, as Trumpeter chose to mold it to the tail instead.

Kev,

I love a critical view and approach to a kit that provides a solid but flawed foundation upon which to build.

On a separate thread you and I discussed the wing fences. If you are so inclined, one other thing to check is the shape and angle of the speed brakes. They are incorrect on the Trumpy MiG-17 but I've not yet checked the brakes on the MiG-15.

I'll certainly look at those, so thanks. Mine will be glued shut, but if they're too far out of whack, I'll take a stab at correcting them.

Today seemed like a good day to play with this, so "away we go". Fuselage seams mostly straightened out now, just a few small touch-ups needed here and there.
