Anyhow, the Xmas holidays really allowed me some time off for modelling…… amazing how fast progress is then.

Masks were drawn and cut using a Silhouette Portrait mat cutter

This really is a very useful tool for LSP modellers.

After that I did the yellow leading edges, adding some more chipping using a Maskol like solution

Let's see how far we progress today…. ;)

Thanks Kev - the Silhouette is a great tool - and at the price of a modern 1/32 kit - it is something I don't want to miss anymore!

I wish somebody would re-release the Alps/OKI set of printer again!

Terrific project and the weathering is superb. Wish I had the know how and talent to make my own masks but at this stage of the game, doesn't look likely.

The Ki-84 is looking simply surpurb

Keep 'em coming

Thanks Peter - actually making masks is really not that difficult - provided you stick to simple designs…. I'll leave the more complex ones to experts.

This kit is a lot of firsts for me - yesterday I tried out a Flory wash - and was really impressed!

This afternoon, I had my favourite chore - masking canopies - forgot to busy a AM set…...

Well that's about it, final update before it is finished.

She sure is looking mighty fine. Glad you discovered the Flory Washes - really nice way of doing panel lines and light weathering. I've used them for a long time and totally agree how well they work and how easy they are to use.

Keep 'em coming
